||||Lecture was held atSt Bartholomew's<br>the Less, and delivered<br>by the Right|
||||Revd Rose Hudson-Wilkin,<br>Bishop of Dover. The incumbents<br>also meet|
||||regularly;<br>the<br>meetings<br>are<br>chaired<br>by<br>a member<br>of the<br>Charities|
||||Coinmittee.|
|The Haberdashers'|||The<br>Foundation<br>aims<br>to<br>help<br>the<br>more<br>vulnerable<br>and<br>marginalised|
|Benevolent||Foundation|members<br>of society,<br>including<br>the unemployed,<br>the homeless,<br>prisoners|
||||or ex-offenders<br>and<br>those<br>excluded<br>or disadvantaged<br>by<br>virtue<br>of|
||||disability,<br>illness<br>or financial<br>hardship.<br>There<br>is a strong<br>emphasis<br>on|
||||education<br>and training<br>(particularly<br>as a means to employment)<br>as well as|
||||welfare.<br>In general,<br>the Foundation<br>supports<br>charities<br>that are located<br>in|
||||the vicinity of our schools and church<br>patronages,<br>as well as the City of|
||||London.<br>Most ofthe Foundation's<br>grants are to charities whose work fits|
||||within specific focus. The focus areas are reviewed<br>regularly<br>with the last|
||||such review<br>having<br>taken<br>place<br>in February 2019as part of the strategy|
||||review. The Charities<br>strategic<br>review that took place<br>in March 2023 will|
||||come<br>into effect from<br>1 July 2023 and<br>be reported<br>on<br>in the 2023/24|
||||accounts.|
||||The Foundation<br>has supported<br>a wide range of charities<br>during<br>the year|
||||and endeavours<br>to maintain<br>close links with charities to which<br>it has given|
||||more substantial<br>funding<br>or has a long history ofsupport.|
||||The three major grants awarded<br>in 2022/23 were:|
||||~<br>F50,000 to XLP, to support<br>their Exclusion<br>Reduction<br>Programme,|
||||Literacy and Numeracy<br>Tutoring.|
||||~<br>f50,000 to Construction<br>Youth Trust,<br>to fund their targeted<br>support|
||||for excluded<br>young people who are NEET.|
||||~<br>675,000to the Childhood<br>Trust, part ofa matched<br>funding<br>programme|
||||to support food poverty<br>projects<br>in Lewisham,<br>Southwark<br>and Bexley.|
||||Cost of Living<br>uplift grants<br>were awarded<br>to all Small<br>Grant and<br>Major|
||||Grant holders.|

||The Monrnouth|||The object ofthe fund isto promote education<br>by the provision<br>ofscholarships,|

||Haberdashers'|||General funds|
||Benevolent<br>Foundation|||In the Foundation's<br>governing<br>scheme up to4%ofincome may be used to help<br>persons<br>in need to set up in business<br>and up to 19%of income may be used|
