"The general management and control of the Trust Property", being the Memorial Recreation Ground and the Dolphins Hall, ". . for the provision and maintenance thereon of a recreation ground and village hall for the Summary of the objects of the benefit of the inhabitants of the Parishes of Tetbury and Tetbury Upton charity set out in its and the neighbourhood without distinction of political religious or other governing document opinions including for meetings lectures and classes and/or other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation with the aim of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. " The running of the recreation facility comprised of the Dolphins Hall and the Memorial Recreation Ground. The Trust is managed by Trustees who are not paid for their work as Trustees. The Recreation Ground is used by the public, various sports clubs and used for events such as the Tetbury Summer Show. The Dolphins Hall is used by a wide spectrum of local organisations, for public meetings and events including as a polling station, for private events and parties and by users who use the hall to host keep fit, dance classes and similar activities. Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

This has been a strange year. COVID-19 has stopped almost everything the trust normally does yet the trustees have possibly been the busiest we have ever been. Not having to focus on the day to day of running the hall facilities has allowed time for the trustees to correct and put in place some of the things that have been allowed to slip in the past. So as we now reach the end of our financial year and move into the next one we do so in a stronger and maybe more organised position than we have ever been in. COVID has basically meant that all the activities that would normally take place in the hall (exercise classes, dance, meetings, film showings, parties etc) and on the rec (football, rugby, cricket) have just not been happening. On the other hand, with children being home from school and parents often working from home we have seen many more people escaping the confines of their homes and enjoying some relaxation and exercise time on the recreation ground. As we come out of COVID lockdown we look forward to seeing all are users return and hope that those who have begun to enjoy the facilities when there was nothing else to do will continue to do so. Other than for a few months at the end of the summer the hall has been closed for the entire year. Towards the end of the first lockdown, we took advantage of the closure and had the hall floor sanded and revarnished. It’s still an old floor and near the end of its life. But at least it is now a clean and shiny old floor near the end of its life. It has been sad that there has been very little sport on the recreation ground during this year. However, on the plus side the lack of sport has given the ground a well needed rest. This, in collaboration with our extensive set of ground improvement works that we undertook during the year, means the condition of the rec is a lot better than it has been in many years. We have been able to carry out this work due to a winning a multi-year grant from the Football Foundation. This added up to over £10,000 in the first year and will result in us receiving a considerable (albeit reducing) amount of funding for improvements over the next few years. Due to COVID no AGM was able to be held so all elected Trustees continued in office for another year.
