Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Mrs Vera Leigh Charltable Trust
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 5 April 2024 which are set out on pages 6
and 7.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees
consider than an audit 15 not required for this year under section 144121 of the Charities Act 2011
Ithe 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
ensure that the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act,.
follow the procedures laid down in the general Dtrections given by the Charity Commission
under section 14515llbl of the 2011 Act,. and
state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's ￿port
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a
Comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes considerats.on of any
unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees
concerninE any such matter5. The procedures undertaken do not grovide all the evidence that would
be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a
"true and fair view" and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Other matters
Your attention is drawn to the fact that the charity ha5 prepared the accounts Ih'nancial statements)
in accordante with Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice
applicable to charitie5 prepariD8 their account5 in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS1021, issued in October 2019 in preference to the
Accountfjng and Reporkn"ng Charities= Statement of Recommended practr.ce issued on l April 2005
which is referred to in the extant regulations but has since been withdrawn.
l understand that this has been done in order for the accounts to provide a true and fair view in
accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Practice effective for reporting periods
beginning on or after I january 2015.
Independent Examlner's statement
In accordance with my examination, no matter has come to my attention..
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements=
al to keep accounting records in accordance with 5ecbon 130 of the 2011 Act,. and
bl to prepare accounts which accord with the accountr.ng records and comply with the
accounting requirements of the 2011 Act
have not been met,. or

2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.
