Independent Examinerfs Report to the Trustees of Mrs Vera Leigh Charitable Trust
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 5 April 2021 which are set out on pages 6 and 7.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the prep8r8tion of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an
audit is not required for this year under 5ectioN 144121 of tre Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an
independent examination is needed.
It is my re5ponsibilily to..
examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act",
follow the prO￿dureS laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity ComMiss￿n under section
14515llbl of the 2011 Act.. and
state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basls of Independent examlner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An
examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts
presented with those records. It also indudes consideration of any unusual ilerns or disclosures in the accounts,
and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not
provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as lo whether
the accounts present a "true and fair view. and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement
below.
Other matters
Your allenlion is drawn to the fact that the charity has prepared the ￿￿OUnt$ Ifinanci81 slalementsl in accordance
with Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recomrnended Practi￿ applicable to ch8rilies
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic
of Iie18nd IFRS1021. 2ThJ edition. Issued in October 2019 In preference to the Accounting 8nd Reporting Charities..
Statement of Recomtnended Practice issued on 1 April 2005 which Is r8feir8d to in th8 8xtant regulations but has
since been withdrawn.
We understand that this has been done in order for the accounts to provide 8 true and fail view in accordan
with the Generally Accepted Accounting Practice effective for reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January
2015.
Independent examiner's statemant
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention..
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements".
to keep accounting records in acwrdance with section 130 of the 2011 A¢t.' and
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting
requirements of the 2011 Act
have not been met., or
to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.
