Fan Court School. Wrth six heads of house ￿adIng sets ol tutors, each of whom oversees a tutor group wth
three or four pupils from Years 7,8,9,10 and 11, the house structure created supports the day-to-day wellbeing of
pupils as well as encouraging an excrtlng sporting and creative competitiveness Lthen each of th8 six houses-.
Banstead, Esher, Longcross. Norwwd, Radnor. Slanmore. The renewed house ginging compelrtson was a
particular highlight involving all Senior Sthool pupils.
The sch¢xI welcomed a new assistant head and, in response to pupil requests, the co-curricular programme has
been exiended into lunchtimes, resulting in over 70 ccTrcurricular clubs and 50 academic dinics available for
pupils. More than 50 rnembeTS of Year 7 performed in an exciting production of Macbeth in the JGC and a cast
of Year 9 pupils perforTned in the Rose Theatre's Shakespeare festival. The main school prcduction of Oliverl
was a Sel￿Out success with a slep change in production values. Meanwhile Year 8 pupils performed monologues
in the national Shakespeare competib.on and sixth form pupils wrote, direcied. and starrad in their own version of
Aaddin to packed crowds. including Cranmere Primary School.
A full diary of residential trips allowed pupils orwrtunthes such as skiing in Austria, improving language skills in
Berfin and undertaking outward bounds actNities In West Wales. Regular day tn.ps enrich￿ the curriculum, for
eXaM￿e a visit to Kew Gardens for art students and geography field trips to the forrner Olympic sRe at Stratford.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Awar(I scheme conb'nued to play a major role at Claremont with more pupils then ever
participating al bronze, silver and gold kvels.
The introductKJn of The Joyce Grenfell Programme for academic enrichment in the Senior School was warmly

Preparatory School
rhe Preparatory School continued to flounsh, with record numbers seen in Tnany year groups. The sense of
energy and enjoyrnent emanating from the classrooms was palpable and children delighted in the broad an
balanced leaching and learning, as wdl as varied co-curricular opportunities, available to them.
Teaching and Leaming. Children continued lo Ee offered a holistic experience of education. with carefijl attention
given to devising stimulating schemes of work as well as lookin9 closely at vertical ladders of progression.
Formative assessments of leaming continued.. Interactive Computerised Assessment System (INCAS) tests,
provided by CEM, and PIRA and PUMA tests provided annual and termly summative assessment dats
respectively, supporbng close monrtoring of pupil progres5 in malhemalics, reading and spelling, with the data
showing that on average Claremont pupils were working al belween 1 D and 20% above nats.onal standards.
The new mathematics scheme introduced in the Prep School in September 2022 was showing good impact, with
the data collected after ￿1v8 months indicabng record levels of attainment for Years 3 and 4 pupits.
Nonetheless, a decision Wds taken lo introduce in September 2023 futther stretch and challenge wth a
complementary scheme published by ISEB.
All pupils in the Year 5 cohort secured ear￿ offers from Claremont senior scho)l in May. The number of
scholarships offered to the Year 6 pupils remained al around 200A of the cohort, with a pleasing increase in the
number earning an academic award. Equally, a strong system of support and inlervenbon, including Quality First
leaching principles, helped all pupils to make good progress.
SpDrts perfoTmance squads were intrOdU￿d during the year lo complement the inclusive approach to sport., the
squads enjoyed th8 Preparatory School's inaugural ovemighl sports tour in the spring. These in((iab"ves
5UPPOrted the development of stronger teams in key sports. making them better F4aced to Compete in wider

their first overnight trip to MarchanY5 Hill. Day trip5 included wsits to Ufton Court. Legoland. the LNing Rainforest,
Winchester Suence Museum and Kidzania. Outside speakers and visfÉing workshops further enhanced the
children's leaming experience.
Co-curricular opportunities continued as a significant part of the Preparatory School's Dffering. wrth a wide range
of clubs arKI activities, there was something for everyone. Highlights in the Preparatory School were the go-
karting meets and the pojium TX)sib'ons of two of young fencer5 in natsonal compets'lions.
As part of emotional lileTacy support, the Assistant Head, Pastoral drew upon executive coaching training to
dewse a coaching style intervention programme for children needing some help to frame and devise their own
goals and strategies without necessarily needing the more intense invofvement of the ELSA programme or
counselling. Older children benefitted from the sense of empowerment that comes wth devising and slrlvlng for
goa15 which they have identified themselves.
Music and perfonnance continued to be a rich part of Preparatory School lrfe. The demand for indNidual music
lessons is high and children enjoy the opportunity to showcase their talents in assemblies and musical events.
The Year E pupils enjoyed performing as part of a mass choir at the Royal Albert Hall and were privileged lo be
accompanied by the Royal Philharnonic Orchestra. The wonderfully comedic performances of Years 4 and 6 in
Hoodwnked and Porridge showcased the talents and confidence of the children as they delighted their
audiences.

Audltorfs responslbilltles for the audlt of the flnanclal 8tatsm?nts
Our objeclives are to obtain reasonable assufance about whether the financial statsments as a whole are free
from maleTial misststement. whether clue to fraud or error, and lo issue an Audito¢s Retxjrt that indudes our
OFinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assuran￿. but is not a guarantee that an audrt conducted in
accordance with ISAS IUKI will always ¢Jetect a malerid misstalemenl when il exisls. Mi5sts*emenls can arise
from fraLKI or error and are considered materi81 if. indiwdually or in the aggregate, they could reaSona￿Y be
expected to influence the economic decisions of user5 taken on the basis of these financial statements.
Irregularilles, Including fraud, are instan￿S of non-complian￿ wrth laws and regulations. We design procedures
in line wlh our responsibilities, Outlined above. to delecl material mi5statemen15 in re5PECt of irregularities,
including fraud. The extent lo which our procedures are capable of det￿tr"ng irregularities. including fraud is
detailed below..
We gained an understanding of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to the Group and the parent
charitable company and the industry in which it operates, and considered the risk of acts by the Group and the
Parent charitable company that were contrary to applicable laws and regulats'ons, including fraud. We designe
audit Pro￿dureS to respDnd to the risk, recognising that the rlsk tsf not detecting 8 material misstatement due to
fraud ￿ higher than the risk of not detecting one resuliing from error, as fraud may involve deliberale
concealment by, for example. f￿ery or intentional mlsrepresentations. or through collusion.
We f￿U$sed on laws and regulations which could gNe rise to a material misstatement in the financial
ststements, induding. bul not limited to, the Charities Act 2011, Companies Act 2006 and UK tax legislatTon. Our
tests included agreeing the financial statement disclosures lo undertying supporting documentation and enquirie5
wth management. There are inherent limitations in the audit procedures described above and, the further
removed non-compliance with laws and regulations 15 from the events and transactions reflected in the financial
ststements. the less likety we would become aware of IL We did not identify any key audit rnatters relating lo
irregularthes, including fraud. As in all our audits. we also addressed the risk of management override of inlemal
conlrDls. including lesling journals and evaluating whether there was evidence of ￿aS by the Trustees that
resented a risk of material misststernent due to fraud.
