Thls reportls by the trustees of the Bagshot Playing Fields Association. The charity is managed by a Board of
Trustees and the day to day running of the facilities is Tun by the management commlttee. There is always
one trustee on the management committee.
As the board of trustees we are very involved with the activities of the association and are supportive of the
management commlttee in whorn we have full confidence. We are delighted with the excellent work done
by our new treasurer Mr Chris Darvell and we are confident of a stable and successful future.
The objectlves of the A55oclation are to promote the benefit of the Inhabltants of the vlllaqe of 8agshot and
the borough of Surrey Heath by providing facllities in the interests of sotial welfare for recreation and
leisure-time occupation with the object of Improving the conditions of the life for the sald inhabltsnts, and
in particular to:_
il extend the existing playing and recreational facilities,.
lil to encouraie all forms of recreational activities suitable for the site.
iiil to manage, maintsin, improve and repalr the play areas established and the equipment and
materials provlded and to raise money for these purpo$es;
iv) to encourage a mutual support relationship with the local community.
These objectives are being achieved.
The playing field is extensively used by the local community. we have a local youth football club based on
the facilities, regular runners and walkers. We manage 114 •cre of woodland aware of their ecologlcal
value.
The tennis facilities are run by an active Tennis club with growlnq mernbership. The club now has 5 all-
weather courts, LED flood lights and coaching including for handicapped children.
The pavilion Is used by a wide range of communlty groups,. keep fit gTOUPS, Pilates, Yoga, Ballet, dancing.
mother and baby groups and older people. We are also the home for Bagshot Guides. The Pavilion (Hall
and Terrace R¢)oml is also a major venue for hire in the community for birthday parties and other events
and is much in demand. Such hirings are absolutely vital for the financial viability of the Association as
annual sUPPOrt from Surfey Heath and Windlesham Parish Council h8ve much diminished in recent year5.

Over the past 5 years we have successfully modernised the pavilion. This was achieved with the help of
local fundraising and fundin8 from the Lottery Fund and the Marathon Trust as well as support frorn
Windlesham Parish Council.
We pulled through the difficult period of Covid helped by financial support from Surrey Heath Borough
Council. We now find ourselves able to plan for the future with confidence.
In accordance with our charitable objectives we have ambitious plans for the future.
We outllned the following plans for 2023..
11 A running I walkin8 trail around the field of 0.25 miles marked out with posts and encouraging
signs. So extending the types of sports using the facilities. This has been done.
21 In the next year we will be resurfacing the access road and parts of the car park. Thls has been
done with clear markings at the entrance for better visibility.
31 We are having a major cutting back of en¢roachin8 tree5 and shrubs. This has been done and is an
annual undertakln8.
41 We regularly review our environmental footprint and economical use of resources. Thls year we
had a tot¥1 loft insulation to the Tecommended thlckness. We had our Ilghts changed to LED lights. All
radiators have indlvidual thermostats and tlmers.
51 We have bought new chairs to replace the old ones in the pavilion, we have installed two Picnic
tables and added two extra benches in the grounds.
