|Summary of the purposes of<br>the charity as set out in its<br>governing document|Para 1.17|The property shall be held in trust for the<br>purpose of a Village Hall for the use of the<br>inhabitants of Theale and the surrounding<br>district (hereinafter called the “area of<br>benefit”).  Without distinction of sex, political,<br>religious or other opinions and in particular<br>used for meetings, toddler development and<br>parent and child groups and for other forms<br>of recreation and leisure-time occupation<br>with the object of improving the conditions of<br>life for the said area of benefit.|

To this end<br>the Management Committee manages the<br>facilities in terms of their letting,<br>maintenance and improvement.<br>The monies obtained from hiring out the hall<br>are to be used for the upkeep, improvement,<br>to repair, insure the building, furniture and<br>effects.  To pay rates, taxes and salaries, as<br>well as to buy furniture and other equipment<br>required by the hall as a means of<br>recreation.<br>The main users of the hall include a parent<br>and toddler group (Government funded) and<br>is also used by NHS Health Visitors as well<br>as for business meetings.  Leisure activities<br>which run in the hall include Zumba, a<br>Mums’ and Baby exercise class, Kick-<br>boxing, Beavers and Scouts meetings,<br>Singing practice and Clog dancing practice.<br>Various fundraising activities and events are<br>also held which incorporates all age groups.<br>The hall also hosts regular entertainment<br>events such as Jazz afternoons as well as<br>providing an affordable venue for private|

## **Financial Review**
