The Pop In is open from 9.30-12.00 from Monday to Saturday. People are able to have a warm drink and biscuit read the daily newspaper or just a rest and before continuing with their day. A chat is the most important thing. The number of attendees varies from day to day from 2-15 or so. Numbers are finally increasing following the pandemic.

The Pop In is solely run by volunteers of which there are 9.

We have 3 trustees:

Michael Parsons, Lynda Cornell and Kate Neall.

Raffles are run at Easter time and Christmas time.

We have a sales table which primarily sells books, jig-saws and cards. Other items, which have been donated by the people who use the Pop In, are also sold.

The mini bus had a slow start at the beginning of the year with many of our regular clients wary about mixing in public. However numbers have picked up during the year and at times now we are running with a full bus.

As normal the main trip is the weekly shopping trip on a Thursday. This not only gives those with restricted mobility the opportunity to get out it is also a social event when much information and ‘gossip’ is exchanged.

Although at the start of the year we had to subsidise trips from savings with the build up of numbers the trips are now self-financing with donations from our passengers. Funds have also been raised with coffee mornings and also the Camelford Agricultural Show generously made us one of their chosen charities.

Overt the year we have had another person volunteering to drive for us and successfully completed his DBS etc. Our two organisers continue in their role and I would like to thank all those who work so hard making the mini bus a success.
