The aim of the organisation is to operate a museum and archive, for the benefit of all, but particularly the local population, incoming tourists and all those with an interest in the area. The focus of the organisation is and will be the history of Swanage and its environs.

Objects: The Advancement Of Education By:- Providing And Maintaining A Museum For The Exhibition To The Public Of Specimens Of The Fine And Useful Arts, Ethnology, Archaeology, Botany And Natural History; And By Fostering, Promoting, Improving And Developing Artistic Taste And Encouraging The Knowledge, Appreciation And Understanding Of The Arts And Crafts.
