**and protection of German Shepherd**
**Dogs that are in need of such by reason**
**of sickness, maltreatment or poor**

**cruelty to and suffering amongst such**
**animals. If feasible, we do our best to**
**find these dogs a new loving home once**
**they have been assessed/rehabilitated.**|

**German Shepherd in need that is**
**brought to our attention. We often**
**collect these dogs from homes, kennels**
**or bad situations and take them to a pre-**
**arranged boarding kennel, for which we**
**pay their boarding fee for the entire time**
**they are in our care. If these dogs prove**
**unsuitable for homing through health or**
**temperament, we pay their boarding fees**
**for the rest of their life. We fund raise to**
**pay for their kennelling and veterinary**
**fees. If a dog comes to us sick, or**
**suffers ailments whilst in our care, we**
**ensure they receive prompt veterinary**
**treatment irrelevant of the cost. If a dog**
**has an ongoing illness when we home it,**
**we pledge to pay the vet costs for that**
**illness for the rest of the dog’s life. We**
**do our best to rehabilitate dogs that are**
**brought to us with temperament issues.**
**We will only rehome a dog once we**
**know it is safe to do so. Sometimes**
**rehabilitation can take months, but we**
**do not let the length of time with us and**
**the cost of kennelling cloud our**
**judgement as to their suitability for**
**rehoming. We ensure every dog in our**
**care receives optimum quality of life**
**which goes way beyond put a roof over**
**their head and feeding them. Their**|
|||**mental wellbeing is as important as their**
**physical health.**|

**charity, we have homed in excess of**
**9,000 German Shepherd Dogs. We have**
**a number of approximately 30 dogs in**
**our care that are not fit for rehoming**
**due to temperament or health. These**
**dogs will remain in our care for the rest**
**of their days being cared for and living a**
**happy existence. For many of the dogs**
**that have come into our care, there is no**
**doubt that we were their last hope.**
**Without us these dogs would have been**
**euthanized. We have taken dogs into**
**our care when owners could no longer**
**afford veterinary fees for their ailments.**
**Their only alternative would have been**
**euthanasia. We have collected dogs**
**from veterinarians, where their owners**
**have taken them for euthanasia through**
**health or temperament, or sometimes**
**just because they are no longer wanted.**|
**We have also taken dogs from dog pounds once their time was up and they were booked for euthanasia the next day. We do not discriminate. If a German Shepherd needs or help, we strive to provide that help as long as it is needed. We also give behavioural advice to dog guardians to try to save the dog from ending up in rescue.**
