## **THE KENN CENTRE**

## **’ – Trustee s Report Year Ended 31[st] January 2023**

The past year has seen the Centre return to a posive financial posion, albeit with a net surplus of only £373. However, this masks the £7,046 which has been designated for improvement work to the Centre, both internally and externally. This work will include upgraded external lighng, which will improve both safety and security; internal decorang; commercial cleaning and weeding for all outside areas and replacement chairs.

The increase in acvity has been well managed by Neil Woodward who connues to balance the demands of external hirers with our commitment to local groups.

Once again, our finances have been impeccably organised by Elizabeth Harman, goes about her tasks with minimum fuss and maximum efficiency.

The Centre connues to be a focus for a large numbers of groups and organisaons from the local community and I am pleased that we have been able to maintain our current hire rates for these hirers.

In addion, we are extremely grateful to St. Christopher’s Mul Academy Trust for choosing the Centre for so many of their meengs. Our relaonship with St. Christopher’s is highly valued by the Management Commi2ee.

With the rising costs for ulies and general items plus the overall increase in the living costs of our users, 2023/24 promises to be another challenging year. However, I have every confidence in my fellow Management Commi2ee members and I feel sure that the Centre will connue to play an important part in the local community and the wider area.

As always, my thanks go to all members of the Management Commi2ee for all their hard work during the past year.

Peter Vickery – Chair, Kenn Centre Management Commi2ee
