Company law requires the Trustees to prepare ffinan¢ial statements for each finanal year which give a true and fair view of the stale of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resourc6S, including the Income ar¥J expendtture for that pwiod. In preparing these financial statements, th8 Trustees are required to.. select suitable accourfng pollcles and then appty them cor6lstenlly', observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP.. make judgements and estimates that are reasonable arbj prudent: state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been folkmied, subject to any matarial departures disdosed and explained in the financial ststements.. prepare the financial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business. The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which discjose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial posrtion of the chanty and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charty and hence for taking reasonabb steps for the prevention and dete¢aion of fraud and othèr irrégularltles. The trustees are responsible for maintenance and integrty of the corporate and financial infomiatlon included on the charrty's website. Legislatson in the Unrted Kingdom goveming the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ fr¢xn legislation in other jurisdictions.
