Christopher Ewart-Biggs Memorial Trust Annual Report 2022-23 

The Trust exists for the purpose of rewarding work which increases understanding between the peoples of Britain and Ireland, or between members of the European Union, and is awarded biennially.  A Judges’ Meeting took place at 56 Patshull Road London NW5 on 11 February 2022, to discuss the arrangements and winner for  the 27[th] Prize, covering entrants for the calendar years 2020 and 2021. (A previous meeting had been held on 28 October 2021.) The presentation took place at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Iveagh House, Dublin, on 5 May 2022, where the Prize was presented by Fergal Keane to Gail McConnell for her book of poetry _The Sun Is Open,_ followed by a dinner hosted by the Trust. 

A Trustees’ Meeting took place the next day, 6 March, at 21 Haddington Road, Dublin 4; minutes available if required. 

A Judges’ meeting to discuss the next (28[th] Prize) was scheduled for April 2023 (see Report for 2023-24)
