The Group is managed by the Group Trustee Board. the
members of vthich are the'charity Trustees. of the Scout
Group %thich is an educational charity. As charity trustees
they are responsible for ¢omptw'ng wth legislation applicable

a¢¢ounls and making retums to the Charty Commission as
appropriate.

The Trustee Board consists of Ihe Chair. Treasurer and 2
Trustees (including 1 Ex Officio Trustees, and 1 co-opted

This Group Trustee Board exists to make sure the charty is
Wel￿managed, risks are assessed and mitigated, buildings
and equipment are in good working order. and everyone
follows legal requirements and the organi$alion's policies and
rules. Their support helps other volunteers run high-quality
and sale programmes that give5 young people skills for life.

Risk and Internal Control
The Group Trustee Board has identified the major risks to
which they believe the Group is exposed. these have been
reviewed and systems have been established to miligale
against them. The main areas of concem that have been
identified are..
Damage to the building. property and equipment. The Group
h35 sufficient buildings and contents insurance in place lo
mth.gate against pemianent loss.
Injury to leaders. helpers. $UPF4)rters and members. The
Group through the ¢aprtab"on fees contributes to the Scout
A550cialion5 national accident insurance policy. Risk
Assessments are undertaken before all activities.
Redu¢ed income from fund raising. The Group is primarily
relianl upon income from subscriptions and fvndraising. The
group does hold a reserve lo ensure the continuity of activities
should there be a major reduction in income. The Board could
raise the value of subscripts'ons to increase the income to the
group on an ongoing basis, either temporarily or permanently.
Reduction OT loss of leaders. The group Is totally reliant uptsn
volunteers lo njn and administer the activits'es of the group. If
there was a reducb'on in the number of leaders to an
unacceplable level in a Pa￿CUlar seclion or the group as a
whole then there V￿uld have lo be a contraction.

Rlsk and Internal Control
The gTOUP has In place systems of Intemal controls that are
designed to provide reasonable assurance against material
mismanagement or loss, these include 2 signatories for all
payments and a comprehensive insurance policies to ensure
Ihal insurable risks are wvered.

Achievements and performance
Summary of the main a¢hievemenls of
the charity during the year
2023 saw many achievements that enriched the lives of our
young people.
More than 40 S¢outs plus adult volunteers embarked on a
trip lo the Kanderstag Intemational Scout Centre in
Sw"tzerland. Preparatsons included fundraising, training and
planning for a wde range of outdoor acts'vities. The young
people engaged ￿th Scouts from across the world,
broadening their horizons and making unforgettable
memories.
. Airhop Sleepover gave the opportunrty for some of our
younger members to experience a night away from horne. A
sleepover at an indoor trampoline park was well received and
successfulty attended by 70 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
A District organised Dragonslayer event enabled our young
people to gather together wth other Scout Groups from
around the district wth nature focused actiwties ran by
Weslonbirt Arboretum.
- Joining the local Remembrance Day Parade allowed young
people lo be part of a community event.
The King's Coronation was celebrated in a variety of ways
by sections, as well as a celebration badge for posterity.
