Welcom to this. Ihe 2024 AGM of the Vinter& Park Residents. Asso(xation and lthank you
all forattendlng.
One wonders were the time go8s.11 doesn't seem that long Slnce the last AGM, t￿t in that
year we have been very acaive, so let me give you a brief resume of what we have been
upto.
Our coffee mDmlngs on Ihe first Frfday n￿rnIng of each mnth contlnue to go from
strength to strength. I Ihink this Is in the most part due to the very hard work putin by our
team of ladies and Ken, Ihey are all volunteers and give up thelrlme to make wonderful
cakes forthis even( and of course all of you who attend, we couldn't do itwithoutyou. lan
Chlttenden Is a regular and keeps us updated on local problems and answers your
queslions. Steve Songhurst from the Nature ReseNe has also kept US updated on what
goes on In the reserve.
We have just comp18ted the 2025 Easter Egg hunt and again it doesn't seem long sinco
the last one. This event is extremely well attended and en￿Yed by all thattake parL Once
again, its success Is due to all those voluntsers who help organlse i( my thanks to them
all. We held ourcarshow last year in the car park, itwas really well attended. We do seem
to have a lot of owners of Interesting car5 in the area, but l thinkthe bacon rolls and tea do
help. This yearfs event 18 on the 261h May. so we look forward to seeing you 811. My Ihanks
go to Craig McAteer for helping to organise this 8venL
We are holding a cream tea on the aftemoon of 23rd Augustfrom 2.00pm to 4.00pm. there
will be enlertalnment and local produce stalls 80 came and join us. tlckets will be available
soon.
We had a very successful Christrnas lunch last year. whlch replaces the last coffe6
moming of the year, il was enjoyed by all as l am sure It will bo again thls year. Thls. of
course. leads on to our Chrislmas Fair, the largest event of the year. This year itwill b8 on
29th November, so put it In your diaries. ifs an event notto bg missed.
So that condudes a brief recount of previous and forthcomlng events, but the runnlng of
your Community Centre goes on, we are always looking for new volunteers to come and
pin our team so glve It some thought and If you have and ideas for new events please let
us have thom.

has submltled a report to be read out by our Secretary. Caroline Corry. The auditsd

lan began by thanking Ihe VPRA for the work they do on Ihe Community Centre and the
success of It coffee momings. Please support the committee or come and help.
Flnance update on KCC. The Govemment conllnue to make cuts whllst costs have risen
dramatically. There will be further cuts next year making it harder to get thlngs done.
Speclal educational needs. Youth SeNlces. Social Sep4lc£8 and Hlghways have all been
cut substantially ovorthe last 15 years. Itwould take £18million to bring everything up to
scratth. KCC g8trlnan(￿ from Govem mentfor potholes and su rfaclng so please conllnue
to report Ihese. School services are being maintained, we are short of places in junior
scnools due to the new developments butlhere are a Tew plaGes slll in seniorschools.
The Govemments proposal to do away with county and b0￿Ugh counclls and fomi a
unitarycouncil with an elected Mayorwill see many changes In the county in the nextfew
years.

The same as with other utilities.
Do developers consider water saving appliances?
Yes they do.
Is Kent Hlghways Independen
No It is part of KCC
What can be done about the amount of rubbish being left around the estate?
Continue to report on MBC website as flytipping.
Is tree cutting done regularly?
KCC check all trees every 5 years. If there Is a problem then report to either KCC or
MBC.

John Fullersaid that he is Trgularly seeing cars being parked in the hall carpark and Ihen
left there for the day. The committee have previously stated that thls is not a problem
beiween the hours of 9.00pm and 8.00am but outside of that can cause and issue with
hirers. It was agreed by the Chair that Ihe committee would look into Ihe issue.
