There was no m88ting in 2023 due to a numbar of restrictions. Chairpersons Report Welcome to this, the2024 AGM of the VintersPark Residents, Association and Ilhankyou all forattending. You wlll be aware due to various restrictions Ih is is the first AGN stnce 2022. Sadly, since Ihen we have lost ourcaretsker Derek Bullerwho passed away in June 2022. We have also lost iwo committee member5, Philippa Jaffrdy who moved away from the eslate and Sam Thomson stood down. PhilippavS ourvice Chair butfortunately IAichell Zevla has stepped into hershoes and has been doing an exlIent)b, thankyou Michelle. Also, Ihanks to all the committe8 members who do a sterling job running the coffee momings and other events. Worf( and activities have continued in the centre, we h8ve had a npw fire alami systBm and CCTV system installed and Cllr. lan Chittenden g8ve us a grant of £1500 for new curtainsin the large hall which habiielK)ed the acoustbcs in the hall. Otherevents included our Easter egg hun( a Coronation lunch. car shows and the Chrisbnas fair, noiwilhslanding our coffee momings which have continued on the first Friday of every rrM)nth and ntinue to grow in popularity, all which help to fund th8 hall. Ir you haven't been do come along and N)in us. In fact. we are always looking for new committee rnember5. so please give that som8 consideration and come along and help us run Ihe community centre. There will be further cuts next year making it harderto get things done. The biggest problem over the past few weeks has been the waste collections. This was awarded to a new provided this year and they have tried to make big change5 to tDUtes from day one. This has resulted in large numbers of bins not being collected for weeks resulting in very high number5 of complaints to both KCC and MBC. They hwrfe now gone back to the old system so hopefully the problems will redu over Ihe coming weeks. Beatsted Road improvements. Progress is stlll very slow, phase 1 has started but phase 2 has not been finalis8d yeL Fly tipping. any instances reported are generally being dealt wilh the following day. There was a bad sew8rage leak in Aldon Close but it was all dealtwith within a few hours. Chris Price said Ihat she has spoken lo the Head Teacher of VaSley Park School rggarding the high numbers of pupils hanging around Ihe estate and Ihe amount of litter they are leaving. She was told that Ih6re are iwo teacher5 from the school up there every day to keep an eye on things. Also, sludent parking is still a big problem, especially in Bedgabury Close. lan said its very diffIAt0 get anythingdoneand alth itisa genuln8grievan he is not sure how tt is going to g8tsolved. Fr8d Burton Is concemed aboutlho steps at the shops. they are in very bad repair and are dangerous. Tony has spoken to the shop ownern and although it is the landlords ponslbility itgets charged back to them so Ihey are planning on doing itthems61ves. lan said he will speak to the owners and if neSSary place an enforcemenl nollce on Ihem.
