affected by PKU. Thts represents an inwrtant step in rdiSing awareness and seeking wlicy thanges to improve ihe ljves
of those living with PKU.
ESPKU Conference.. The ESPKU Confrrence held in Bimikllgbam was a highlight of the year, wher¢ discussions on
unequal PKU treabnent a¢ross Europe and pr¢senthiions on new research. such as synthetic probiotics for PKU. were
key topics. The NSPKU enabled a numi*r of families and memixrs of the Charity to attend and contribute to the
di8cussions raking place.
Challenges and Opportunities.
WThile we have made significant strides. challenges remain. A(t¢ss to n¢w and exisling treatsnents varies xr05s ditrerenl
regions, and dietary management continu&% to a significallt burdeD for mony families. The uwjming year will f¢xus
on red￿l￿g these dispariiies and adv0￿1n8 for broader access w PKU treamierbts. Eff￿ts to enhance public
understanding of PKU through education. T￿did engaggnenr4 and commtsnity programs have ￿en pivotal and will
continue as a major focus in the fikn.
