LEGAL STAT
Cossingion village Hall wa5 erected in 1921 by local parishioners in memory of those who died during the Great War of
1914-18 and was administered by the Management Truslees in confomity with the Trust Deed dated 18 SeplembeT
1962 for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Cossington and the neighbourhood. The 3rte of the hall was
exchanged for a new hall on18nd just behind, whith wa5 completed in Oct4Jber 2011. Folknwing this, the orKJinal Tiusl
Deed was Tevised on 7th January 2013 to which il now conlomis.

Cossinglon Village Hall was vesled in the Official Cuslodian for Charilies for all ltte Estat8 and lftleTesl lo be held in
Trust for the Ch8rity and sealed By Order of the Commissioners dated 5 June 1979. The new hall was similaty vested In
Ihe Offiual Cuslodian on 24 August 2012.
THE MANAGEME￿[ TRUSTEES
The Management Committee ¢tsnsists of six members elected at the Annu81 General Meeting six appointed
members, one from each of the six organisaiions a5 slaled upon the Trusl Deed, and may include nol more than 3 c¢>
opted members.
Elecied and Represen18tive Members are the Charity Tnjstees and afe responsible for Ihe control and management of
the administration of the Charity under the Charity's goveming document.
RESPONSIBILrrY FOR THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The Trustees are responsible lor the prep8ralSon of the financlal slalements and for keeping proper accounting record$
which disclose the financial position of the Charity. Th& Trustees have elected lo prepare the financiol siatem¢nts on th
income and expendilure basis.
REVIEW OF THE YEqR
As stated lasl year. it might be a while before'nomiof is re-establi5ed bjl w• seem lo be holding our own for ncyw.
We have again this yeargeneraled a sfflall excess of tsicome over e¥pendtture despite the cost of everything increasing
alamingly. especially electr¢aty- Hire fees are coming bad( up after lockdown. an increase of£10.000, but lo counter
that, expense5 have also risen, eledritily being the main one as mentKJned. Sundry expenses thi5 year (whith indudes
things like TV licence and Premises li￿nCe} ara down this year bacause there w&re some kitchen *lems indude(I la

Bank b8lan¢es remain healthy and will enable us to cope wth whatever Ihi5 yèar will bring.

Respective responsibilities of th8 trustees and examiner
The charitys IrLtstees are responslbfe for the preparallon of the accounts. The charitys trustees consider that
an audit is not required for this year under section 14412} of the Charities A¢t 2011 (the Charities Act) an(J that
an independent examination Is needed.

to fotlow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission urKler

Basis of independent examinerfs ststement
My examination was c8rried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission.
An examination includes a of the accoynting records kept by the charty and a comparisL)n of the
accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosure5 in
the accounts. and seeking explanation3 from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The proceijures
undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be require(1 in an audit and consequently no opinion ig
given as to whether the accounts present a'tyue and falr view, and the report is limited to those matters set
out in the slalement below.
