TOWCESTER & DISTRICT YOUNG FARMERS CLUB CHAIRMAN’S REPORT For The Period Ended 31 March 2023
Chairman’s report
I would like to thank my committee for all their help this YFC year – I have enjoyed my second year as chairman but I am looking forward to handing it over.
We managed to reach 100 signed up members, which was a great achievement this year. We have had a good year of meetings and coming second at the spring rally was a good achievement for the club, especially getting young young farmers involved.
We’ve raised a lot of money for a variety of charities this year through multiple events that we have hosted as a club, seeing some impressive amounts raised for local and farming charities. We’ve done well in competitions, placing highly in most that we have entered, which I am very proud of all our members who have gotten involved.
I would like to wish those competing at Lincolnshire show this week best of luck and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the club next year.
I would like to thank my secretary for all her hard work over this year. I would like to give a special thanks to Lottie for all her hard work with YYF, and finally a special thanks to Sue and Claire for always being here for us.

REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT EXAMINER TO THE TRUSTEES OF TOWCESTER & DISTRICT YOUNG FARMERS CLUB CHARITY NUMBER 272988 On the Financial Statements for the Period Ended 31 March 2023 Set Out On Pages Three To Four
I report on the financial statements of Towcester & District Young Farmers’ Club for the period ended 31 March 2023, which comprise the Receipts & Payments Account and the Statement of Assets & Liabilities.
This report is made solely to the Charity’s Trustees. My examination has been undertaken so that I might state to the Charity’s Trustees those matters I am required to state to them in an independent examiner’s report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the Charity and the Charity’s Trustees as a body, for my examination, for this report, or for the opinions I have formed.
Respective responsibilities of the Trustees and the examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements. The charity’s Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
examine the financial statements under section 145 of the 2011 Act;
-
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner’s statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and
-
to prepare financial statements which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met; or
-
(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.
