The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Charity Commission for England and Wales Introductory Notes for Receipts and Payments Accounts (June 2013.. new format January 20171. The trustee confirms that they complied with the duty in Section 4 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity's Commission general guidance on public benefit "Charities and Public Benefit" The Trustee's Report clearly sets out the charitable objectives, current activities and how they benefit the public. STRucfuRE AND GOVERNANCE Governing document The charity is governed by the Will of the settlor dated 14 December 1954. OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES The fund was first set up on the death of the settlor to pay or apply the income and capital, as grants, for such charitable purposes as the then trustees should in their absolute discretion determine. Charitable Objects and the Advancement of Public Benefit There are no restrictions in the Will Trust itself, other than in respect of grants to individuals. In the past the former trustees gave priority to charities which existed for the benefit of causes which were of the greatest interest to the late Lord Egerton, namely.. wildlife and the countryside, and children and youn8 people particularly in the Cheshire area. On 19 April 2011 the trustees resolved by way of grant to transfer the property of the charity, consisting of its investment portfolio and cash, to Barnardo's. They subsequently retired as trustees in favour of Barnardo's, which now administers the charity. The trustee will continue to receive, from time to time, payments in respect of releases of restrictive covenants arising from land formerly part of the Will Trust. No other assets are held, as far as the Trustees are aware. The trustee has paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the charity should undertake.
