The Committeelg appointed annually for a penod of one year by members at the
AGM,
The object of the Society (the charity) is the study and practice of choral music in
order to foster public knowledge and appredation of such music by public
perfom)ance.
In this period, under their Muslcal Director, Cole Bendall, the Society perfomied
Orffs Carmina Burana In conjunction with Surrey Youth Choir in November 2023 In
tho 8pnng concert we performed Cecelia MacDowell's Da Vinci Requlem and. m the
summer, Haydn's The Seasons. All perfomiances were with a full supporting
programme, with professional sololsts arKI mosl with orchestra accompanimenL The
Society also funded Intemally a scholarship scheme with 3 young musicians Just
startlng their musical career8.
The Trustees confimi that Ihey have complied with the duty In Section 17 of the
Charrties Acl 2011 to have due regard for the publlc benefil guldance published by
the Charty Comrnlsslon in determinlng the activities urKlertaken by the Chanty.
The re8erve9, comprislng the assety less the liabilitie8, total £13,943 and are needed
to 8UPPOrt the ongoing activities of the charty, In particular the net cost of the
concerts where the shortfall Is met by subscnptions paid by our slnging memberB,
We gratefully recognise the 8UPPOrt provided by the Frk?nd3 of Woking Choral
Soclety and the Henry Richardson Taylor Trust.
