Structure, governance and management
The Charty is a male voice choir with approximately 90 members. The Constitution 15 the goveming
document. supported by Choir Rules that set out operational arrangements. The Trustees, drawn from the
membership, a￿ the accountable body. Day-to-day management is delegated under the Constrfculion to
the General Committee. Members participate in governance through the AGM and in operational matters
through wee￿Y bu5ine55 meetings after rehearsals.
Objectives and activities
The principal objective of the Choir 15 to provide a facility for men wishing to engage in male voice
singing, and to perform in publiG in the form of Concerts. This objective is underpinned by the Choirfs long-
estsblished role as a representslive body seNing the interests of male voice choirs in the Mousehole and
Cornwall area
The Choir achieves ils objectives in several ways by-
promoting male voice singing throughout Cornwall by arranging and taking part in concerts acr05$
the county. and taking part in high profite events by invitation. The Choir also supports and
participates in the biennial Cornwall Intemational Male Choral Festival-
increasing public awareness of the cultural traditions and heritage of rnale voice singlng in Cornwall
and the benefits this brings lo local communities by singing Cornish songs as part of the repertoiro
and by informal social singing at venues around the county, including care homes-
encouraging composers and arrangers to produce original works and contemporary 8rr8ng8m8nt
thereby supporting the ongoing development and diversification of the Choir'$ male voice
repertoire..
facilitating and organising Choir events lor the mutual cultural benefit of ils members and for the
raising of funds to assist and support the work of local national and intemational charitable
organisations-
supports'ng youth music in the area. particularly male choral musi4 and helping to
recruit additional members. especially younger men- and,
maintaining a webs((e and soaal media presence that provides a central Source of information and
online engagement for the benefit of the Choir's members and the wider community.
By achieving these objectives the Trustees recognise and have complied with the duly to have regard to
the Commission's guidance on public benefit.

Achievements and performance
The Choir continued to thrive, with a full programme of concerts and other èvents, and attracted new
member4 including novice a5 well as more experienced singers. Membership encompasses a wide range
of ages and now indudes five members under 30. of which two are leenagers.
Activities demonstrating public benefit included maintsining Cornish musical traditions- supporting
RNLI and Royal British Legion events and Socal festivals- social singing at community events and ￿re
homes- and raising funds through cOn￿rt proceeds. retiring collections and contributions from Choir
funds. Choir events included eight concerts, and a lour to Yorkshire and Lancashire, organised by the Choir
as well as responding to almost 20 invitations to sing 8t 8 wide range of venue4 including to a RNLI 200
celebration at Sherborne. Many of these events diieclly supported other community organisations and
local charities.
More of our concerts are being recorded and being broadcast by a communlty radio slalion. Our
Summer Festival concert wa3 videoed and has appeared on the venue's social media channels.
Financial Review
Cash funds a5 al 30-Nov-2025 was £36.564 in unreslricled funds.
There 15 no ReseNes policy in place- however, sufficient funds S￿ held io cover ongoing operational
costs. Proceeds from a number of events are paid directly to support the work of community or other
charitable organisalions while other requests are considered in the context of the Choirfs aims and
financial position.
Other optional information:
OUT Musical Director became the Choir's longest serving MD having seNed in eX￿$S of 21 years.
We are looking forward to a tour to Brittany in 2027 to sing with Iwo highly regarded Choirs. Fund-
raising for this has already started.
