Section D
Achievements and performance
Sutnmary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Thi5 year, our organisation has had to adapt how Guiding could be
delivered due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19. Members have
acce55ed Guiding actiwties through face-to-face meetings. when
allowed, and through emails and virtual platforms such as Zoom.
The range of activities at local group level continues to be based on the
Girlguiding programme. with leaders creatively adapting it to ensure all
girls, regardless of background and indiwdual needs, contTnue to get a
broad arKI varTed set of activities that challenge and motivate them.
During the first half of the year, following the restrictions put on these
by COVID-19. many units participated in virtual sleepovers. However,
during the second half of the year, several units were able to hold
successful Tn person residential5.
Alongside this, members have continued to achieve personal goals.
Young members have achieved qualrfications relevant to their age group
Duke of Edinburgh Awards and section Gold Awards. In addition, our
leaders have extended their own knowledge and qualificalions in order to
offer the girls ever greater opportunits'es in new and innovative ways.
These have included leadership qualifications. residential qualifications,
First Aid qualtfications and Safeguarding training.
As a result of COWD-19, our membership fell during 2020 by around 10%
but we are pleased to report that they have returned to "normal"
levels post Covid.
Fleet Division Guide Hall is a community building used by members of
Girlguiding for unit meetings and residentiais. It is also used by several
community groups inc1￿1ng Fleet U3A and Brendoncare Clubs. The
Management Committee of the Hall worked hard to make the Hall
-COVID safe" and was able to open Tt up to Users (when permitted by
the Government).
