Chaimians report 2024 1- Snodlarvl Scouts
I have now completed my first year as the Chairnian of 1st Snodland Scouts, a role l am very
proud of holding. its been a year of change, not only from the Scout a550ciation with the
changes they have put in pla￿ but also with losing Pete and the wealth of knowledge and
guidance he gave us all. He is very sadly missed but has left the group in very safe hands with
Nathan being appointed Group Lead Volunteer we can continue to shape the group into a
community and familythat continues to grow.
As you have already heard the major change this year has been the introduction of our
Squirrel colony. headed up. in very safe hand5 by Sue. Starting children on their journey
through scouting, giving them skills, experiences and friendships they can carry through life.
The group continues to grow and in the last year has seen an increase of 25% ofyoung
people, aided by the introduction of Squirrels. but also new members joining other Sections
of the group. This is frdntsstic to see and I hope they continue their scouting journey through
to adulthood a51 believe it truly is a VRY of learning life skills that are not readily available
anywhere else.
Reading back through my reF)Ort from last year Ft ended with a hope that we would be in our
new Scout hut, unfortunately that 15 not the case. just yet, but it has not stopped the
sections delivering a fantrstic program. and we are so grateful to still have a home here at
the school whilst we carry on the quest for a building of our own.
l also would like to thank all the adult volunteers who give up their time week in and week
out. Not only the sertion volunteers but also those behind the scenes, the other members of
the board, the treasurer, our new secretary. the helpers at events and work days and
everyone that helps us fundraise, clear grounds and a hutKlred other things that go on in
scouting. Without each and everyone of you we would not be where we a￿. so again thank
you.
Once again I will end my report in wishing that next year we will be in a building of our own,
delivering programs to the young people of Snodland and making many happy rnemories
with our scouting family. But even if the first part of that is not achievable, I know the rest
certainly is.

## Avril

Further to our recent conversation I am pleased to confirm:

As usual I conducted the audit for Snodland Scouts and whilst credit balances have shown a slight increase in the current year I am satisfied with the evidence provided that this is in line with fund raising and grant utilisation for the delayed building project.

The main accounting remained in good order and in line with previous years with no queries and all entries backed by documentary evidence.

Should there be any further questions I am happy for the Charities Commission to contact me directly at my usual address.

Yours sincerely

Stuart Chilmaid Auditor
