TROWBRIDGE GUILD OF COMMUNITY SERVICE Chairman's Re ort - 202312024 This AGM is the 50th meeting of the Guild. This report. for the yèar 1st April 2023 to 31" March 2024, will also constitute the Charity Commission report. The 4V AGM was held on 9th October 2023. First the minibuses. In my last report I had to describe the saga with Mercedes Benz in trying to get a new ECU for bu5 1. That saga finally ended in November 2023, over 12 months after the vandalism occurred. Nothing more was heard from the poli, but our Insuran did cover the cost of the repairs. This left the way open to sell the minibus. In November we agreed the price of £17000 with M4 Van & Minibus Sales in Swindon. This money was duly invested and the interest was used to make donations to worthwhile Charities in the future. As far as the minibus 2 is concemed, it is still under the nominal rental scheme viith the Trowbridge Link, as it has been for the last two years. This means that there is one year Feft to run as from October 2024, and we need to know from the Link by June 1st 2025, exactly vthal they want to do with the bus, the options being to retum it to the Guild on the required date, or to continue using it at an agreed hire rate and period. On to staff changes, we have lost Robert Greerlwood who resigned in 2023, and would take this opportunity of thanking him for his ServIS over the last seven or so years. His place on the commrttee has been taken by John Hurel, who joined us at the Gommrttee meeting on 10th June this year. Some of you may recognize his name because he was one of the bus drivers until we decided to sell them, so he knows the Guild quite well. At this point I would like to thank all members of the Guild's Executive Committee for pling in all their hard work over the last year. Finally last year the Guihj was abFe to make donations totalling £5500. This amount went to Studley Day Centre, Honey Pots, Maple Grove, Mondaylwednesday Club, PHAB, Group 5, Trowbridge Lions, Upper Studley Baptist Church. and the Trowbridge Hub. Donations for this year have still to be decided, but will be along a similar vein. Page3of7
TROWBRIDGE GUILD OF COMMUNITY SERVICE TREASURER'S REPORT- 202312024 MINIBUS ACCOUNT The Link continues to rent bus 2 for £120.00 per year but we need to know what their intentions are in the next year. We made a profit of £16956.31 for the year to 3110312024. due to the sale of the minibus. We have a healthy bank balance of £67520.80. WRIGHT FUND Mrs Wright's trust remains invested and donations to local charities will be made from the interest earned. Our accounts for the year have been checked and verIfd by an indepeThJent examiner, but we need his formal confimiation bef¢Jre submission to the Charity Commission. Page4of7
