In connection with my examination of these accounts, no matter has come to my attention:

1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements

- To keep accounting records in accordance with Section 41 of the Act; and

- To prepare accounts which accord with accounting records and to comply with the accounting

- requirements of the Act

Have not been met; or

2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **Treasure’s Report**

In 2025 we completed our catch-up on the backlog of outstanding hiring fees by the spring, which explains why revenues are slightly down on the previous year. However, although the hiring fees have not quite covered all of our 2025 basic expenses, this is largely due to an increase in maintenance & repairs items. Yet these do not include quite a number of additional items, which have been shown separately, as they are exceptional expenses which have been incurred to enhance the facilities of the hall and improve the decorations. It has always been our intention that these items should come out of fund-raising, rather than revenue, and, even with the unusual expenditure during this year, our fund-raising was only about £1200 less than the costs. Those fund raising efforts are actually slightly up on the previous year, with the 100 Club still doing well and the Bazaars, though down a little again, are still our best fundraiser by far. The Book Fairs also did very well during the year, largely thanks to a wonderful donation of children’s books, for which we are most thankful, and we do still continue to benefit from them.

Overall, we have seen a small lowering of our bank balances this year, due largely to the exceptional expenses, but they are still in a healthy condition and I have no immediate concerns regarding our viability. In fact, we are still in a very stable financial situation currently, as I mentioned last year, and do retain a backup for expected incidents, such as property improvements, and, for a reasonable time at least, to counter potential problems as, for instance, the current world inflationary concerns. Last year I did suggest that we may have to think about the level of our hiring fees, now with the inflationary pressures due to the war in Iran, we may have to re-evaluate them again.

So, overall it has been another satisfactory year financially. My grateful thanks to everyone, and particularly all our committee members, who have helped to make this year another great success.
