beloved Musical Director. Ronald Corp, at the age of 74. Ron hod held his tKi# for 30 y¢8rs had
associar¢d with th¢¢hoir for *lme*t 40: what he did us was ¥*rt of a distingui4￿1 portfolTQ 8S B musTcian
that included fo￿￿1n8 and c(Md￿ting the New Imkn ¢(XMI￿8 the Hi8h8ate ChoTal Society

and the New IA)rthn Cbildren's Choir. arxl rxtYdiDg a considwabk W of ￿￿51¢. although completely &t
home with the most ¢iffnpl¢x and d¢mandtog works in the reputoire, he had a love of British music 8nd
his recording5 of it arc second to none. Perhaps aly)ve all he was a distioguished composer in his own righ(
with a fiTII walogue of works in all gen￿ cT¢•ting a kgacy that will live on for as lon8 ￿ M￿91¢ is played.
Ron's eontribution to The London Ch(Yus w&8 ¥ne￿lMab1e. hc inlKrited a choir of hi8h slond8rds and
faulllessly maintsined them. When struck by illness IA* in 21124 he chose to stand do￿ and become
Conductor Emer11￿ returning to the and when he was Kll enou￿. Sadly, his death Mne
suddenly and unexpectedly. and so that rffl¥ rok was not to be. A L%)nc&t in celebrati(m of his life will be
held jointly with the New Londcffl Orrh¢*rn atkd th¢ High8at¢ Cknr￿ kni¢ty on 2) June * the Cadogan
Hall. A furth(¥ tribute to the excelknce he ll￿111ed in ¢hoir was the high number of applicants to succeed
him. and that the choirw4s •bk kn atrxt s(*neiw of the SU￿l&tIve qulty of vfdiiam Vami ￿ the new
Musical Director.
