Friends of Biala Limited is a Company limited by guarantee., its goveming documents are

its Memorandum and Articles of Association. It was incorporated on 4 May 1964 as a
company and the company number is 803733. The Memorandum and Articles of
th
Association were amended on 8 January 1971. Friends of Biala Limited was registered
as a charity on 3 June 1976 vrith charity number 271377.
The Charity is run by the Directors of the Company, who are also Trustees for the purpose
of charity law. The Trustees have all served throughout the period and all act in an
honorary capacity. None of the Trustees have any beneficial interest in the Charity
New Trustees are appointed based on personal competence. availability, specialist skills,
knowledge of, and contact with institutions professing and teaching the principles of
traditional Judaism and the advan￿ment of religion in accordance with the Jewish faith.
New Trustees are inducted into the workings of the Charity by the existing Truslees and
are given aC￿sS to the Charity Commission publications.

Objectives and activitias
The principle objectives of the charity are-.-
a) to foster, assist and promote the charrtable activities of The Biala Institutions both in the UK
and abroad which profess and teach the principles of traditional Judaism and further
Jewish Education
bl lo advan￿ religion In accordance wilh the Orthodox Jewish Faith
cl to give aid to and support needy persons in general.
The charity re￿iVeS income mainly from its investment properties, and by donations from
persons and entities connected to the trustees which It utilises in the provision and
distribution of grants and donations. The aim is to distribute these profits to organisations
that fall within the objectives of the Charity The charity's principal activity throughout the
year was the provision and distribution of various grants as well as providin9 Synagogue
premises, and no change is envisaged in the immediate future.
The Charity is organised so that the trustees meet regularly to manage its affairs. The
Charity does not employ any staff or use voluntary assistance. Administration of the
charity is dealt with by the trustees and its accountants.
Publlc Benefit Policy
We have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general
guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aims and objectives and in planning our
future activities.
Grant Making Policy
Grants are made to charitable institutions and organisations that accord with the objects of
the Charity.
Investment Pollcy
The Trust Deed authorises the Trustees to make and hold investments using the general
fund of the Charity.

Risk Management
The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the Charity is exposed. in particular
those related to the operations and finance of the Charty. and are satisfied that systems
are in place to mitigate its exposurè to those risks.

strategic report of the Charity.
A¢hievoments and perlomiance
During the year there were no donations made to charitable institutions (2024.. £5000).
Financial review
As at 31 March 2025 the charity held reserves of £1,627,993 {2024.' £1.688,152).
Reservo8 Policy
The Unrestficted Fund represents the unrestricted funds arising from past operating
results.
The Irustees are satisfied that the balance of the Fund is at an acceptable level of
reseryes. The Trustees have retained a large reseNe as they wish to continue supporting
the building and supporting further Biala Synagogues in the UK and Israel.
TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES STATEMENT
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and Financial
Slalements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards
(United Kingdom Generally AC￿pted Accounting Practice).
Company law requires the Trustees to prepare Financial Statements for each financial
year which give a true and fair view of the stste of affairs of the Charitable Company and
of the incoming resources and application of resources for that period.

The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are
sufficient to show and explain Ihe Charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and enable them to ensure
that the Financial Statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also
responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and for taking reasonable steps
for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
SMALL COMPANY PROVISIONS
This report has been prepared in accordan￿ wtth the provisions applicable to companies
entitled lo the small companies exemption.
The Trustees, Annual Report was approved on 16 May 2025 and signed on behalf of the

Basis of independent examinorfs report
Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners. An examination includes o review of the accounting records kept by Ihe Charity
and a comparison of the Accoun15 presented with those records. It also includes consideration of
any unusual Items or disclosure5 in the Accounts, and seeking explanations from you as Trustees
concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that
would be required In an audit, and consequently we do not express an audit opinion on the view
given by the Accounts
