Chairman’s Report – Ben Speakman
Evening everyone,
We have had a positive end to 2022 after a turbulent year.
The foam party we hosted turned a great profit.
Our 75[th] Ball was a huge success, thanks to the hard work of the team involved.
I hope the club gets back on its feet properly, following a tough year.
7.0 TREASURERS REPORT OF ACCOUNTS
Final accounts will be up to date over the next few weeks
Current - £13,309
Reserve - £8,436.92
Still must pay County for memberships approx. £3,500.
Approx £7,000 outstanding cheques
2 years’ worth of charity money still to be distributed.

Annual subscription for 2022-2023 is £35 per member.

15.0 WELCOME BY NEW CHAIRMAN (TALLON AVERY)
Good evening and thank you for electing me as Chairman.
It is a belief of mine that a short speech is an honest one. So, I shall leave you tonight with just one statement and one promise.
Firstly, thank you to all of those who support the club, past and present, your help is greatly appreciated.
Secondly, with every decision made, I shall keep the clubs’ best interests at heart.

Oliver Weavers – Just a little introduction, I am County Chairman this year.
Great job to last year’s committee
County are here to help you all, however your cub is your own, so don’t just follow what we or other clubs do.
Hamish Beaton is my Vice-Chair, Jenny in the office and County President Jane are all here to help too if you need.
We are running a plastic recycling campaign this year with CSH, collecting and recycling farm waste to raise money for County.
The next Subs meeting is 14[th] October, and the next Exec meeting is 5th October – Anyone can attend.
Chris Scott is also on the County committee, co can offer great advice.
Have a good year everyone, all the best!
Chris Scott – As Ollie said, I am County VP this year so feel free to come and speak to me if you need help with anything.
Try to do as much as possible together this year.
On another note, Foxes Farm Produce are putting on an evening at the Pumpkin Patch Friday 7[th] October. There will be a bar, music and food. Free entry for Colchester members.
Jenny Maskell – I work in the County Office, the office number gets diverted to me.
Need DBS documents from Tallon, David, Abbie, Livvy and lucy (New Members rep)
Get dates in Action Press sooner rather than later.
Online membership forms this year, so get signed up asap – Pay directly to County or Club, membership won’t be processed until we have proof of your payment.
Noticed you haven’t appointment a Show rep – This is a great opportunity to work with a team of other members from the County. Show week is great to make new friends (don’t have to be there all week). The Show meeting is every second Wednesday of the month. TS – It’s important to remember that we put on the show for the public, not for ourselves.
Tom Speakman – I am your President this year. So please do come to see me if you have any issues.
Would be great to get stronger communication in terms of Monday night meets this year.
Remember to enjoy yourselves.
