**Objects:** The Trustees shall hold the capital and income of the Trust Fund upon trust to advance the education of the public in the arts and humanities and preserve for the benefit of the public lands and buildings of beauty or historic interest and furniture, pictures and chattels of any description having national and historic or artistic interest by making grants to other charitable organisations.

**Activities:** The charity makes donations reflecting the founder's interests in the conservation of culture inherited from the past and the dissemination of knowledge, particularly in the humanities field although not in  the educational field.The Trustees meet twice a year with their Advisors to identify and discuss the merits of a variety of projects which broadly accord with the above objectives.
