Notes to Accounts for the year 2023-24

The accounts are prepared on a cash basis as required by the Charity Commission.

The accounts for the year 2022-23 were signed by the Independent Examiner. These were as presented to the AGM in July 2023.

The accounts presented overleaf are draft accounts and will be passed to the Independent Examiner for scrutiny by the end of August 2024.

Pre-payments. Pre-payments of £1,256.40 were made during the year for rights for the season 2024-25 for 4 plays and £105.48 for scripts for 1 play.

Reserves. £979.83 was added to reserves for the year 2023-24. At the year-end, 30 June 2024, the reserves were £21,458.62. This is considered sufficient to fund cashflow for the year and to provide adequate support for the Society’s activities.

Remuneration. No trustees were paid for their work.

Creditors / Debtors. There are no creditors or debtors at the year-end.

Price Increases. The cost of ticket prices was increased from £10 to £12 from 1 July 2023. The cost of membership was increased from £30 to £35 also from 1 July 2023.

Charity Donation. £154.35 was raised from program sales on behalf of the Lopping Hall charity.

10.Costume storage. Christine Eckley has decided to sell her garages where we are storing the LADS costumes. We have rented the use of a storage container. This will be an additional cost of £1,800 pa less £480 for cost of garages.

11.Gift Aid. 33 members have signed Gift Aid forms. This will give a recovery of £288.75 from HMRC for the year 2023-24.
