Performance, Challenges & Achievements The l. Chesham Scout Group remains active in the local eommunity, providing opportunities for young boys and girls to join one of its Squirrel, Beaver, Cub or Scout Sections. As ever a big thank you to the leadership teams, both Scouting and Trustees, for their continu¢d commitment to the group, without whom the opportunities we provide would not be possible. The health of the group in ternis of number of members continues to be strong, with all sections maintaining a healthy number of members. The annual Santa Float, Schools of Chesham Carnival and Scout Posl continue to be vital fundraising activiti¢s for us. I, Chesham Scout Group continues lo support the community by offering for hire, the Scout Headquarters (SHQ) in East Street, for local clubs and activity organisations. The Trnstees would like to thank the leaders & members of the Chesham All Girls Band for their continued preference and support in using the SHQ facftlities. Thank5 again also, to the support of Ellie Redding (line dancing), Ian Scott {First Aid Training) and Mountainwise (Duke of F,dinburgh Award) for hiring the SHQ. Additionally, a big thank you to Sarah Eades for handling all the bookings for the SHQ this past year. The I st Chesham Scout Group governing documents are those of the Seoul Association. They consist of a Royal Charter, which in turn gives authority to Ihe Bye Laws of the Association and The Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association. The I st Chesham Scout Group is a trnst established under the Scout Asso¢iation rules which are common to all Scouts. The Trustees are appointed in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules olThe Scout Association. 4. The I st Chesham Scout Group is managed by the Board of Trustees. the members of which are the 'Charity Trustees, of the Seout Group. As charity Irustees they are responsible for complying with legislation applicable to chayities. This includes the registration, keeping proper aLcounts and making returns to the Charity Commission as appropriate. The Committee consists of 3 independent representatives, Chair, Treasurer and SecreÉary together with the Group Scout Leader, individual seelion leaders and parent's representation. The committee meets every month. 6. The I st Chesham Scout Group Board of Trustees exists to support the Group Scout Leader in meeting the responsibilittes of the appointment5 and is responsible for.. The maintenance of I st Chesham Scout Group property. The raising of funds and the administration of I sl Chesham Scout Group finance. The insurance of persons, property and equipment. I st Chesham Scout Group public occasions. Assisting in the recruitment of leaders and other adult support. Appointing any sub commitlees that may be required. Appointing I st Chesham Scout Group Administrators and Advisors oth¢r than those who are elected. 7. The I st Chesham Scout Group has in place, systems of int¢n)al controls that are designed to provide reasonable assurance against mal¢ridl mismanagement or loss. These include two signatories for all payments and ¢omprehensive insurance policies to ensure that insurable risks are covered.

Chesham Scout Group are as a unit of the Scout Association. The Aim of The Scout Associatioii is lo promote the development of yoiing people in achieving their full physical, iiitellectual. Social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as menibers of their local national and intemational communities. The method of achievingJ the Aim of the Associalioii is by pi-oviding an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training. basld on the Scout Promise and Law aiid guided by adult leadership. Section E. Financial Review I, Chesham accounts are published annually and presented at the AGM. 2. The Group's policy on reserves is to hold sufficient resources to continue the Charitable activities of the group should income and fundraising activities fall short. The14oard of Trustees considers that the group should hold a sum equivalent to 12 months running cosls. The Group does not have SU￿1¢[ent funds to invest in longer tenn inveslments. Independent Examiners Report to the Trustees of the 1st Chesham Scout Group I report on the accounts of the Group for the year ended 31 St March 2025, which are set out on pages 6 to 8. Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner The charity's Irustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011. The Gharily's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 14412) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to.. examine the accoLJnls under section 145 of the Charities Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under seclion 14515)Ib) of the Charities Act, and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of Examiners Report My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as lo whether the accounts present a 'true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
