all. For 50 years. we've championcd ¢reatii'ity in Milion Keynes to foster in¢lusion. communit}, cohcsion
and wellbeing. We specialise in work with children and young people. leaming disabled peopl¢, those
unde￿epresentCd in the cultural mainststam, or facing social or economic challenges. Our mission is lo
transfom] lives ihrough meaningful participalion in high-quality, ¢realive programm¢s. Our prOgr￿n]neS
reduce isolation, improve menlal health, and empower individuals b>. building confidence, skills, and a

(SORP) -FRS 102, issued in 2014.
Governing document
Inter-Action (Milton Keynes) Lirnited is a company limited by guarantee. incorporated on 19
September 1975, and a regist¢red chariry. It is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of
Association. The guarantee of each rnember is limited to £1 O.
OBJFCTIVES AND ACTJVITJES
We have referr¢d to the guidaDc¢ ¢ontained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on
public benefit when reviewing our aims and obj¢ctives and in planning our future activities.
The primary objective is the provision of Community Arts and Arts Development.

A full list of the trustees who served during the peri¢)d is shown within the legal and
administrative informathon.
Trustee recruitment and organisaiion
Trustees are recruited through adN'ertising locally and attracting interested individuals who are
assessed against skill requirements needed by the board.
Remuneration
Inter-Action MK currently has no directly employed staff. Therefore. rho einployee earned in
excess of £60.000 during the period and the iotal remuneration paid to key inanageinent
personnel during th¢ year was £nil (2025: £nil).

Safety Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy. Educaiion Policy, Artistic Policy, Safeguarding
policy, and Disciplinary Procedures.

Our work over the last 5 years has consolidaied Inter-Action
MK as a leader and stron8 partner within our sector locally.

high srandard thai are not necessarily held by the most

Work in children'5 centres
The contribution made by Inter-Action (Milton Keynes) Limited to the community is recognised
by support from the MK Communiry Foundation. the National Lottery Community Fund. MK
Council, the Police Community Fund and trusts and foundations.
The programrne for 202516 included:
StoryBox:
Following tbe success of the Little Acorns project we have developed a project in
¢onjunction with local Children's Centres. The project focused on working ￿ ith families with pre-school
childrcn to sirengthen relationships and learnin2 iogether through creativity. outdoor leaniing and oracy
skills. The success and outcomes of Story'Box, has l¢d to successful funding for SioryBox Chapter2. an
18-month programme which will begin in May 2026, and ￿"ll7 increase the i)umber of centres and
promote intergen¢rdtional work in partncrship wilh l(Kal libraries, ¢ar¢ homes and others.
Groo￿ Gecko.
Our long-running nightclub wilh and for adults with additional needs is now
well established in partiiership with Popworld MK. We now have regular iheme nigFhts and occasional
guests. The programme pays for itself and also contributes to our core funding.
Public Art Strategy for Wavendon"
We have b¢¢n commissioned by MKC as Coiisultanls, to create
a public art Straiegv for the parish of Wavendon. This will run into 2026n. and includes intensive
creative consultations with community stakeholders and partners.
Youth Drama Pilot witkn StgntODbury Parish Countil:
Funded by ihe local Police Community
Fund and in partnership wilh Stantonbury. Parish, i¥'e develo￿1 a successful series of pilot drama
workshops with local children and )'oung ￿ople.

Financial Review
The surplus on the ordinary activiTies of ihe company during th¢ year amounted to £15.460
(2025.. deficit of £944).
The principal funders of the organisation during the year were Mk Communiiy Foundation,
National Lottery Commuthi(ies Fund, MK Council, Policc Communiry Fund, along? with income
from Groovy Gecko, our long running nightclub with and for adults with addilional needs in partnership
with Popworld MK.
Total funds held by Inier-Action MK as at 3 1 March 2026 were £)2.660 (2025-. £17.200).

£13,000).
The trusiees are confident that Inter-Action MK is able to continue to meei its l labilities as they
fall due for the foreseeable future and that the accounts should be prepared on a gioingi concern
basis.
Reserves Policy
The trustees aim to keep enough in unrestricted reserves to ensure sufficient resources are
available io cover all notice and redundancy costs and fuiure lease commitmenis in ihe event
that they are required. In addiiion. the trustees aim io have sufficient unrestricced funds
available (o cover on-going projects should funding fail.
Funding
Inter-Action MK approaches fundraising as a team activity Wlth the Co-Directors leadiJi&. and
a range of approaches are taken to raise funds from ihe Arts Sector, Community Secior,
Corporate Sector and Trusis. A new fundraising sirategy is being developed. Inter-Action MK
does not use the services of professional fundraisers or commercial panicipators to assist with
its fund development. No complaints have been re¢eived regarding its fund development
activities.
Plsns for Fllture P¢riod$
We plan to work on projects over 3-5 years and io achieve medium term funding to carry th is
out. During 2026127 we plan to develop a new 4-yeai plan.
Jn addition, Inter-Action MK has adopted a new co-Direcior model as part of succession
planning which is alr¢ady yielding good results.

ACCOUNIING POLICIES
Basis of accounting
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with ihe Accounting* and
ReporlinL by Charities- Stsiemeni of Recommended Piacticc applicablc to chariiies
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in
the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective l January 2015) - (charities SORP
(FRS 102)). the Finathcial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
{FRS 102) and ihe Companies Act 2006. Inter-Action (Milion Keynes} meets the definition
of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at
historical cost or iransaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevani accounting pol icy
not¢(s).
Going concern
The trustees are confident that Inier-Action MK is able to continue to meet lis l iabil ities as
th¢y fall due for at least. but not limited to. 12 months from the dale the accounts ar¢
approved.
Cash llow statement
The irustees have taken advaniage of the exemption in SORP Bulletin I, published in
February 2016. which exempt5 Small charities from preparing a cash flow statement.
Fund accounlhDg
General funds ar¢ unrestricied funds which are available for use at the discretion ol Ihe
trustees in the furtherance of the general objectives of the chaiit>' and which have not
been desiLynated for other purposes. Resiricled funds are funds which arc used in
accordance with specific restrictions imposed by donors oi which have been raised by
th¢ charily for particular purposes. The cosi of raising and administeringF such funds are
charged against the specific fvnd. The wm and use of each restricted fund is set out in
the note5 to the financial staiements.
Expend iture
All expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under
headings that aggregate all costs related to the category. Where costs cannot be
directly attributable to particular headinLis they have been allocated on a basis
consistent with use of resource5. Support costs are those costs incurred directly in support
ofexpenditure on the objects of the charity and include project manag)em¢iit carried out
on the premises.
Pension costs
The company operate5 a defined contribuiion pension scheme for employees. The assets
of the scheme are held Separately from those of the company. The annual conrributions
payable are charged to ihe statement of financial activities.
Incotne
All incoming resources ale included in the Siatement of Financial Actiwilies {SOFAI when
the charity is legally enutled to the income and ihe amount can be quantified wilh
reasonable accuracy.

project will develop and continue as StoryBox Chapier 2 in 2026-2028_
Wavendon Public Art. This year h&$ seen start of work in¢luding intensive cotnmuniry consultation
towards the creation of a public art strate.￿ for Wavendon parish. commissioned by MKC eouncil with
fijnding from developer contribuiions. This project will complete in Summer 2026.
Youth Drnma Stanronbury This was a pilot proje¢1 rnnning a series of dratna workshops In partnership
with the parish council. The parish were particularly ¢￿er to See provision for younb people who may be
at risk of takin> part in anti s(Kial behaviour. and to add to the offer ofthe communitu Hub.
