J3me5, Matt & Jon agreed tg take on the role of Group S(out Leaders just about 18 months ago. we are delighted wth the way the Groyp is functioning. the direction we arè hezding and the fanta5tK growth in both Leadership and YDuth number5 that we have seen. Rustington continue to offèr an Ènjtsyabie. sati5fytng and fulfilling programme to all our youn9 pegple and as we continue to modemise ovr Pfemises and develop our Leadership team. we can all be proud that once again we have written fijrther fantèstic page in the Group's history bLH)k. You will have seen further changes within the HQ to include 3 fuit redecoralion and new flooring which has been wèll received by our ever growing number of Hall hi￿r% We conty'nue to build an incroased social media presence and have replaced and renewtd many items of equipment that enable the 9roup to run the programmes that we do so well. Alongside our usual commitments to include secbon meets, camps, hikes. sleepovets. District events and Community involvement. we held a wonderful Christmas Carol Concert in St Peter & St Pauls Church and had just shy of 200 9roup members and their f&miLV bttenu whiLh made for a very special evenin9. We have also been the Distrirt Duty Group for the past 12 months and this culminated in an epic St Georges Day service run by ourselves in Arundel Cathedral. Now, aside from an AstrnftauL Jutigle animèis. planets. soaring bir(Js. a focket on a zip wire. helium balloons and a cast of more than 25 children. we also hadts an 18 loot clragon and St Ge￿ge himself in a fvll sutt of amour having a battle in f¥ont of the pulpit Perhaps slightly different to normal cathedral events but particuially enjoyed b¥the 800 strong congregation, gasping, clapr>.'ng 2nd cho>ring 3ti the way through. I, Rustington Pioneer Scouts AGM round up report April 2022- March 2023 Pioneers have had an acbon-packed yearl We have welcomed 3 new leader5 In Amy, Andv and Beth. We have also welcomed Izzy and Ted a5 our young leaders, they are a great a55et to the team. We have invested 10 new scouts thi5 year to join the Pioneer adventures. April and May saw us preparing for M¢iV camp as well a5 completing our general knowledge badge. Plenty of gad%nt b.uildinE. tent pitching. cooking and washing up practice. We also had 3 5COUts complete their expedition challenge badge which was the final step towards earning their chief scout's gold award. Such an amazing achievement a5 a huge chunk of their scouknng was over the covid period. We also had St George5 day which wa5 a great day and we also invested Amy as a leader. May camp was at Birchmere and wasthe first camp for many scouts. We had a great time with a grear hike, laser tag and shooting to name a few activities. There were plenty of fun times arouno the caih Ipfrtre and we sharpened up our knife skills with some whittling. A rainy day Uidn'"t dampen our spirits with some craft activitr"e5 and impromptu dance party in the m3"1uI.'s' Wp were treated to some wonderful skits by the scouts too. As we near the end of the summer term 2023. we nom, have M iiery healthv 26 Scouts. The progre55 the group has made in the last 6 monihs is phenomenal. We have Teceived 7 new Scouts from Kingfisher and Pathfinder Cub Packs and 7 from ovtride of Scni Iting. We are projerted to receive more Scout5 in September from both Kingiislier and Pathfinders and thank the leaderships team in both groups for their support in helping u5 grow. With the influ% of Scouts, we needed more leadership help. Tom Wleedon decided that he would return to Scouts after a two year absence. He has settled in really well and has been a massive help with the wealth of expenence he brings to the role. Sunimpr Camp 2073 was held in Bristol and was a joint camp with Pioneer Scouts. This yeèr Froiitiers took 12 Scouts, which 15 double the amount we liave taken the pievious two years. This is a positive step in the right direction. The Scouts enjoyed taking part in Canyoning, surfing. Hiking and Shooting along with many other activities. This year has seen the Frontier Scouts complete the following activities. archery. swimiming, scalextric racing. building and ."ocing chariots and cooking pancakes. We have corp.plpted tb.p cod& breaking badge, a night hike across Angmering park and built fires and cookpd rampfirA donu15. Kingfisher Cubs AGM Sertion Report 2023 In July. we were able to return to campi￿. but, due to havln8 lessxperienced campers a5 ? ￿$VIt of COVID, we offered a hybrid camp. whereby chlldren could choose to either camp for the full three nights, camp for one night. or just visit for one day. In the latter half of the term. we had Silver Award presentations from those moving up to Scouts. investitures of new CLbbs and hosted a H3lloween themed incident hike- an extended evening where we W71ked around the local area to visit different volunteer Leaders, each running spooky basesi We also made some Christmas cake5. gifts and caids for our families, and had a fun Christmas party. Spring term Sa￿ u5 host our own 8urns Night, plus a badge night. where children had the opportunity to be assessed on lots of differeni bad8e5, and our cardboard city evening. This evening raised awareness of homelessness. aTrd rhe children brought in donation5 for Yuming Tides,. We also made and ate pancakes, had a visit to the RNLI lifeboat station, and had an ama24ng Easter hunt, which involved lots of problem-solving along the way. Pathfinder Cub5 Annual Re ril 2022 to rf120Z3 We have had another fun packed year at Pathfinder Cubs. Here are some of the thin85 we've been up to. In the Summer monihs. we tried to hold most of our meetings outdoors. We went to Woodland's recreation 8rotJnd to practise our athletics ski115 and to play some team games from other countrles. We held a pack forum in MewsbrooK park, followed by ice cream (always a popular choicell we cry..?niEpd a ,'irter ?ir.klhiko along l.jttlehaw.?ton beacl with the council providing the litter pickers. 1 Rustin ton Forest Beavers Annu81 Re￿Ort This year has been one of amazing grovrth and change for Forest Beavers which has been very exciting for us all. Of course, I would never have been able do it without the support of my wonderful leadership team Rosie, John and our 2 young leaders Olivia and Darcy. Our leadership team has also grown Ihroughout the year and we welcomed Sarah. Sara and Veronica. As well as ially who has been helping us in the background. We currently have 27 beavers in our Colony which again has grown over the past year with a strong attendance each ￿￿ek.
