**Tacolneston & Forncett Recreation Association – Annual Report 2025**

Following the previous years changes to the committee, this year has seen a great deal of activity to improve the Hall. Although we have made a loss of over £3,000 (mainly due to mains water leak expenses), the groundwork has been laid to move us back into profit in the next financial year. It should be noted the water leak expenses claim has now been settled by our insurer.

Progress against our strategy last year has been as follows:-

## Increased Appeal / Income

- We have consolidated our new hirers having over 40 hours of regular bookings per week.

- The Tuesday morning ‘warm social hub’ has continued and is well supported in the village. Members of the committee manage this event on a voluntary basis and the committee oer this ‘free of charge’.

- Installation of an accessible toilet. Whilst the development was not without its diiculties, it has now been completed. Thanks to the Parish Council and South Norfolk Council’s Community Action Fund for their grants.

- Two EV car chargers have been installed by Norfolk County Council following acceptance to their EV initiative. These are now available for use.

- Solar Panels have been installed following a grant from South Norfolk Council. Again, the preinstallation work was not without its challenges, but the panels are now in operation. As part of the installation, the committee funded separately the purchase and installation of 5Kwh battery and new low energy LED lighting. Thanks to Pete Smith from Evolve Electrical for work well done. We are still awaiting information from UKPN to allow us to sell any excess power back to the grid!

- A new fridge, freezer and dishwasher have been installed.

- Our booking fees have been increased slightly.

Maintenance Issues

- There has been a leak in our mains water. Following extensive investigations and consideration, it was decided to re-lay a new water main to the hall and Sports Pavillion. This was then subject to an insurance claim that was later accepted and paid after this financial year end.

- New hedging has been planted on the fence line of the children’s play area. Unfortunately, not all have survived the climate this year!

- Some of the children’s playground equipment requires replacement as it is well beyond its intended lifespan. The committee are looking at funding options to re-develop this and potentially add some new adult exercise equipment.

We would like to thank the regular users of the Hall for their continued support and also recognise and thank all the committee members for giving their time and expertise throughout the year.
