Ob"ectives and activities
The object of the Association is to advance the education of pupils in the school
in particular by,.
Summary of the objects of the
charity set out in its governing
document
111 Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others
associated with the school-
121 Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the
school and advance the education of the pupils.
Friends of Goodrich was delighted to run a bumper sthedule of events in 2022-
23 with many opportunities to raise funds for the school and bring pupils, staff,
parents and carers together. It was fantastic to welcome back Goodrich Rocks
and the children's disco for the first time since the pandemic.
Summary ofthe main
activilies undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects.
The year started with a wonderful quiz night in November 2022 for parents,
staff and carers which was so much fun a second was PLJt on not long after in
February 2023. Together these raised £1,373 and provided a great opportunity
for the school community to come together.
Later in the Autumn term we ran our second Winter Trail, following on from the
success of 2021. This was a lovely new event involving a treasure hunt of
Christmas windows around local streets with lots of food and gift stalls along the
way. This raised a fantastic £2,412 and was thoroughly enjoyed across the
school community and luckily rain didn't stop playl For 2023 we will be moving

the event back to the school premises to increase the range of activitie5 on
offer. We also received £100 from table top sale5 and £1,321 from Christmas
card sales.
In March the school enjoyed a fascinating range of author visits and attivities for
World Book Day funded by FOG. There was also a very competitive 'readathon'
event which raised an incredible £1309 and inspired a reading frenzy across the
school as all the classes competed to read the most. We were a150 delighted to
hold the first school disco since the pandemic and it was fantastic to see so
many of the children throwing some shapes on the dancefloor whilst raising an
amazing £1998.
The summer term is always jammed patked with events with the Summer Fair,
Fun Run and Goodrich Rocks. The Fun Run was an absolute scorcher of a day
over at the local park with lots of children joining for the mile run and raising a
superb £2,676 in the process. We are very grateful to the event sponsors DRS,
HPH Maintenance and Lochrie Financial Planning.
Hot on the heels of the Fun Run followed the Summer Fair in June which we
were thrilled to hold back on school premises with a bumper range of stalls and
games on offer for visitors. Much fun was had throughout the school
community whilst raising £3,197.
Goodrich Rocks our music competition ended our fundraising year with a bang
in July raisinE an incredible on £2,856. This was the first Goodrich Rocks we
were able to hold since 2019 and the talent on display was incredible. It was
lovely to see the children singing and dancing and the dedication to practicing
and performing was highly commendable.
There were a number of delicious cake and uniform sales across the year which
raised a super £1,304 and easy fundraising and amazon smile raised £202 in
year in cashback contributions.
As always we are incredibly grateful to the anonymous donations made by
parents which totalled a very generous £3,102. We are also grateful to Ludlow
Thompson for donating £2000 for advertising boards.
We also successfully applied for and received a grant of £7,343 from Southwark
Council's Cleaner, Greener, Safer fund which was used to install a wooden play
pirate ship in the school playground.
We are grateful for the hard work and contributions of many parent5 and carers
across the school during the year. It was great to see so many people gettinE
involved and giving their time.
The PTA still retains a healthy financial position due in part to funds accrued
before the Pandemic that we were not able to spend across the Pandemic.
However, we have worked very closely with the school to earmark funds for a
range of activities and projects to enrich the school experience of all pupils at

Goodrich Community Primary going forward and we were pleased to see these
projects getting started in 2022-23 and our contribution to the school increasing
in comparison to the last few years. The most signifitant of these being the
contribution of £20,000 to install new LED lighting throughout the school which
happened in the autumn of 2022.
We also contributed £5,000 towards swimming lessons, £2,520 towards astro
turf repairs and a further £4,187 of funding for playground and music
equipment and books.
