A partially
successful year offundraising,
due to the cancellation
ofmany events
Summary ofthe main enforced
by the effects ofthe Covid-19 pandemic
from late March onwards.
activities
undertaken
for the
public benefit
in relation to
these objects.
This meant
it was not possible to hold three ofthe four largest events -the Fun
Run, Goodrich
Rocks &Summer
Fair - plus numerous
smaller children's
events,
adult events &cake sales.
Ofthe events which were able to run prior to the pandemic
lockdowns,
the
Winter Fair was the biggest fundraiser,
making f7766, which whilst slightly
down on 2018/19 is still above average for previous years.
The Cyclists of Goodrich
(CoG) were unable to run their second "Goodrich to
Goodrich" cycle ride in June, despite recruiting
another 25 keen parents.
Instead
they organised
a virtual
event for all parents, carers & kids to cycle a combined
10,000km, and as a result raised an amazing f6938 in sponsorship.
The Halloween
treasure
/ scavenger
hunt raised an impressive f533.
Several end-of-term
cake &second-hand
uniform
sales were run prior to
lockdowns,
raising f452, plus the Winter mulled
wine &carol event which
raised f182.
It was possible to squeeze
in two adult events, an 80's night
in October raised
f428 and the second Ceilidh / Burns Night event raised f857 in January.
Only one children's
event could be run, a Spring disco which raised f1026.
The Easyfundraising
site brought
in f252 this year in cashback contributions,
Christmas
cards were very popular
again, with the children's
designs
raising
f795 in commission,
and World Book Day events raised f149.
As always we are very grateful to the anonymous
parent who donated
a total of
f600via monthly
payroll
giving.
We are also grateful to Plusrooms,
who with a lack of events to sponsor
arranged
for boards to be erected thanking
the NHS, donating f1000 to FoG and
f1000to the NHS.
The effects ofthe pandemic
sadly meant
a reduction
in the number
of school
trips that ran, resulting
in a corresponding
reduction
in the amount
contributed
towards travel and bursaries off7780.
World Book Day events were possible
in March just before lockdown,
with
f1241being spent on author visits and books for all classes. f1019was spent on
Early Years / KS1resources,
namely
phonics & reading books (f800) and
repairs/replacements
to playground
bikes, trikes & scooters (f219).
There was a focus on theatre trips &visits this year, with f1630donated for
years 5 &6to attend performances
of "The Bee In Me" at the Unicorn Theatre
and f400 for year 2to be visited
by the Freshwater
Arts Company for a Mary
Seacole production
for Black History month. Reception classes experienced
