The trustees confirm they have complied with the duty in section 17 of
the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance
published by the Charity Commission. The trustees have referred to the
guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on
public benefit when reviewing the trust's aims and objectives and in
setting Ihe grant making policy for the year.
The Trust has continued to meet the wishes of its benefactor,
Mrs Gillian Page, as set out in the Trust document 1974 (amended
19751, inasmuch as it has continued to provide education in dance and
drama. Due lo financial constraints, only one additional bursary could be
offered.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objerts (include within
this section the ststutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to Ihe guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on publi
benefil)
After receipt of an initial payment of £160,000.00 from Mrs. Page's
estate, the Trustees have been able to develop the Trust further, in terms
of continued maintenance work on the propety. Conversion of the first
floor into two self-contained flats has led to rental income which Gan be
expected to cover annual running costs of the property. thus rendering
the Trust more self-sustainable in the future. A further rec8iPt of £114,481
was received from Mrs Page's estate in the accountirig period ended 31
August 2024.
The Trustees were all personally selected by Mrs Page, and have very
long-standing associations with the Dan￿ SchoollTrust.
