communities to help them persuade local
authorities and others to protect character,

- A core purpose of MHT is to represent the
UK on European Maritime Heritage (EMH)
and take advantage of the potential it offers
to promote maritime heritage
internationally, secure stronger
international recognition in cultural and
regulatory terms and share learning. Two
MHT Trustees hold prominent roles in
EMH.
-MHT played a key role in enabling the visit of
the Thames Sailing Barge "Blue Mermaid", an
engineless vessel visiting the Royal Docks as
part of Newham heritage and history month by
establishing a crowdfunder for this purpose,
contributing to the costs of the voyage and
making of a short film of the project.
- Recorded webinars were held on “Heritage
passenger vessels and the outlook on
operations", "Living aboard historic vessels"
and on the work of “European Maritime
Heritage" and recordings are available on
Youtube.
