Passmore Edwards Institute Chairman's Report for the Year Ending 31 October 2025 Charity Number: 268429 2024-25 was a difficult year for the Passmore Edwards Institute, Hayle. Water leak damage at the back of the building caused disruption in the building as the repairs took a long time to complete. Although an insurance payout covered the majority of the repairs there was still a net cost to the Institute of £2691.67. The British Legion sues surrounding the underpayment of rent over a number of years escalated resutting in the British Legion vacating the building on 30 September 2025. On the positive side the Banking Hub started renting the Passmore Edwards Room on a full-time basis in March 2015, inrtially on a one year contract. The rent paid gave us some financial stability. Also in June 2025 we appointer a very eApable Treasurer. As we move to the new financial year we face more challenges again. Although we have managed to accumulate some savings in the last year our expenditure will out VRY our income if the banking hub does not extend its contract. I. Increased bills and more water damage is Con￿rnIng. As Chairman I know we have to make some difficult decisions unless we find more Trustees with the skills to help us through this and rfwe get grant funding to help us. Passmore has survived previously so we can only hope we can make it through another year. Thankyou to all the Trustees who help to keep Passmore going.
