CHAIRMANS RbPORT
2024 has been a quiet year for the hall with no major maintenance carried
out. The electric mel¢r8 have been replaced and adjusted io allow for the
in¢r¢as¢ in the price ot'energy. Currenily, the￿ are no wLddings booked
ror 2025.
The Chairman thanked the committee for their continued efforts in ￿nnIng
the hall.
TREASURFRS REPORT
The Accounts for the y¢.Ir endcd 31 st tkrKmb¥r 2024 Show a surplus ot-
£8338.85. The accounts are drawn up on a cash basis and do not include
accruals. The hall generated income of £28.059. 6￿/0 vf the income came
from hirers. an in¢rcase of12/D on 2023 figures.16/o of incomc w&$ thanks
to fundraising attivities, including the pantomime. llam5tone live events
and key committee members running fundraising ¢venis. The remaining
incom¢ came via credit from utllities & bank interesl.
The hall's niiining costs totalled £19720.78. 330/0 of this related to 8as &
electricity. Increased prices in both gas and electricity w¢re higher than
planned. it did not help that with a faulty .smart meter & change of
supplier, we were OVe￿harged 3 times. Credits did subseqvently come.
180/0 of costs can be contributed to wages & HMRC. Hall repairs &
maintenance were cottsiderab
lower than 2023 as no ma

required. We are also forttmate that membern of the committee gav¢ up
their time to undertake runnittg repYair& maintenance which would in other
circumstances been paid WOTk, thu5 saving additional expenditure.
At the close of business 3 1st tkc 2024. our business account at
Santander held £20.893.16. The Santander deposit account beld
£26.810.50.
This brings the 2024 fllwlcial rep)rt to an end. on acceplance of the
ac¢oun15. they will be uploaded to the Charity Commission website by the
1st April 2025.
BOOKING SECRETARYS REPORT
The upgrnde ofthe website enabled online Ixx)kings to be easier for l)oth
the i￿￿11a1 hirer and reduces double bandlin8 of papmwork for the
"I re&Sur¢r￿O0kIng Secretary. The investTnent in local Iregional adv¢rtising
did contribute to bolh enquires aEM)ui the hall and into bookings.
We had few'er weddings in 2024 compared to 2023. We increased our
rcgular hir¢rs by ()ne, ￿ a second Pilales teacher on Ihursdays. Many of
the hirers were repeat business from parties. club activities, church
¢¢lebralions. meetings ond the eleclion. New bookings G￿ne from th¢
Foresty Commission. Yeovil Churches Taunton based businesses and
individuals for family events.
