**Objects:** TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF WEST SUSSEX AND 1) TO AROUSE AND STIMULATE INTEREST IN HISTORICAL RECORDS AND INCREASE AWARENESS OF THE NEED FOR THEIR PRESERVATION. 2) TO ASSIST THE WORK OF THE WEST SUSSEX ARCHIVES OFFICE BY FUNDRAISING, WORKING PARTIES OR ANY OTHER MEANS. 3) TO SEEK OUT MATERIAL OF HISTORICAL INTEREST AND TO PERSUADE OWNERS OF THE NEED TO TAKE STEPS TO ENSURE ITS PRESERVATION. 4) TO ARRANGE OUTINGS, LECTURES AND OTHER ACTIVITIES TO FOSTER INTEREST IN THE HISTORY OF WEST SUSSEX.

**Activities:** To promote the work of West Sussex Record Office and help buy documents for it.  To encourage research into the local history of West Sussex and original documents.  To hold meeting for the membership per year, including the AGM.  To publish four Newsletter and  a Journal annually.
