The Charity was ciral¢d by Trust Deed dated 23rd October 1973 and 15 registered with the Charity
Commission No. 266981.

The Trustees are re¢ruil¢d and appointed as and when required by the remaining Trustees. often based on
their professional backgrounds.
New Trustees are inducted by the other Trustees and are encouraged lo attend relevant training courses

Management Arrangements
The Trustees meet half yearly to monitor the activities of the Charity. including the investment
pei'formance.
The day to day administration of the Charity is undertaken by external professional firnis.
Rlsk Management
The Trustees ¢ontinually review the major risks to which the charity is exposed, in particular those related
to the finances of the charity and are salisfi¢d tliat Sy5terns are in place to mitigate their exposure lo major
risk. The Jnajor risk of the charity is its investment portfolio risk, which is mitigat¢d by biannual meetings
with the InvestTnent Managers.
OBJEcfs AND ACTIVITIES
Objects of the ChATity
The obj¢¢l of the charity is the making of grants to charitable causes chosen by the trustees at their
absolute dis¢retion.
ObJectiVe8 for the Year
The objectives for the year were-
To continue to tnake grants to charitable organisalions.
To monitor the income of the Charity whilst monitoring the financial markets.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Achievement of Objective5 and Public Benefit
The Charity continued to provide grants to worthy organisations. In the year this amounted to 302
grants tolalling £91,900 (2024.. £95,200).
This included many medical and relief of poverty charities and th¢s¢ are disclosed in the Notes lo the
Accounts (pages l O- 16).
Many of the organisations concemed are grateful to rec¢ive the grants, and the Charity received many
letters of thanks.
In plaming the activities for the year the Trustees have referred to the guidance contained in the
Charity Commission's guidan¢e on public b¢nefil. In particular the Trustees considered how planned
activities contribute to the aims and objectives of the Charity and are satisfied that this is the ¢ase.
Grant MaklnE Policies
Grant applications are reviewed to ensure they comply with the requirements of th¢ Charity and the
Trustees auihorise payment through a third party.

Results for the Year
The Charity plan5 to expend its income on charitable donations, whilst keeping its capital intact.
In the year the Charity received donations of £35.585 and investment income and bank interest of £53.553
and expended £124,501 resulting in net expenditure for the period of £31,128 after realised gains and
unreali5ed losses on invesÉments of £4.235.
The Charity saw the market value of investtnenls decr¢8s¢ during the year from £1,282.887 to £1.258.707.
Reserves Policy
The Trustees maintain suffi¢i¢nl reserves in the Income Fund lo meet expected direct charitable
expenditure.
The Capital Fund is invested to produce income for the Income Fund.
FUTURE ACTIVITIES
The Charity will continue to generate income to make grants lo charitable bodies.
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES
Law applicable to charities in Bngland and Wales requires the Trust¢es to prepare financial statements for
each financial year which give a true and fair view of the slate of the charity's financial activities during the
year and of ils financial position at the end of the year. In preparing those financial statements* giving a tru¢
and fair view, the Iru5tees should follow best pra¢lice and..
select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistendy..
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed subject to any material departures
disclosed and explained in the financial sl&1ementS'
prepare financial statements on the going con¢ern basi5 unless it is inappropriate to presume th8t the
Charity will continue to operate.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping pi'oper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy
at any time th¢ financial position of the Charity and which enable them to ensure that the financial statements
omply with relevant legislation and the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of
the Charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the prev¢ntion and detecfion of fraud and other
irj'egularities.

TO THE TRUSTEES
I report to th¢ Irusle¢s on my examination of the accounts of the Ardwck Trust (the Trust} for the year ended
5th April 2025, which compris¢ th¢ Sialemenl of Financial Activities, the Balance Sheet and related notes.
This report is made to the Trustees, as a body, in accordance with the terms of my engagement. My work has
b¢¢n undeilaken so that I might carry out an Independent Examination of the financial statements in
accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. To the fullest extent permitted by
law, I do not ac¢¢pt or assume responsibility to 8nyon¢ other than the Trust and the Trust's Trustees as a body
for my work or for this report.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trusl¢¢s of the Trust you are responsible foi. the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the Ti'ust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and
in carrying out my exemination I have followed all applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examlner's Statement
I have completed my examination. I confimi that no material matters have come lo my allenlion in connection
with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material r¢spe¢l:
accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of ihe Act. or
the accounts do not accord with those records,. or
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the forni and content of
accounts set out in the Charities {Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any
requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view whieh is not a matter Considered as part uf an
independent examination.
I have no ¢on¢¢rns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which
attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be

I. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
a) Ba5i$ of Preparation and Assessment of going concern
The accounts have b¢¢n prepared under the historical cost convention with the exception of investments which
are included at market valu¢. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of
Recommended Practi¢¢.' A¢counting and Reporting by ChaTjtie5 pirpai'ing their aceollnts in a¢¢ordance with
the Financial Reporting Standards applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (Second Edition
issued in O¢tob¢r 20191 and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the Unit¢d Kingdom and Republic
of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011.
The accounts hav¢ bc¢n prepared to give a 'true and fair view, and have departed from th¢ Charities (Accounts
and Reports) Regulation5 2008 only to the extent required to provide a 'true and fair view,. This departure
involved following Accounting and Reporting by Chai'ili¢s prepai'ing their accounts in ae¢ordance with the
Financial Reporting standal￿ applicable in the UK and Republio of Ireland (FRS102} issued on 16 July 2014
rather than the Accounting and Reporting by Charities Statement of Recommended Practice effe¢liv¢ from I
April 2005 which ha5 since been withdrawn.
The Charity constitutes a public benefit entity as defin¢d by FRS 102.
The Trustees ¢onsider that there are no material uncertainties about the Charity's ability to continue as a going
oncern.
b) Funds
Th¢ Capital and Income Funds r¢present the funds of the Charity that are not subject lo any restrictions
regarding th¢ir use and are available for application to the general purposes of the Charity. Funds d¢signated
for a particulaT purpose by the Charity air uni'¢stricted. Restricted Fut]ds are funds which are used sn
accordance with specific restrictions imposed by donor5 gr which have been rais¢d by the Charity for a
particular purpose.
c) Ineome
All income is recognised once the charity ha5 entitlement to the intome, it is PTobable that the income will b¢
r¢ceived and the amount of income receivable can be measured Teliably.
d) Expenditure
Liabilities are recognised as exp¢nditure a5 soon as there 1$ a legal or constructive obligation committing the
¢h8rity to that expenditure, it is PTobable that Settlement will be Tequired and the amount of the obligation can
be measured reliably. All expenditur¢ is accounted foi. on an accruals basis. All exp¢n5¢8 including supw)rt
costs and govcinance costs are allocated or apportioned to the applicable expenditure headings.
e) InvestmeRts
Investments are a form of basic financial investment and are initially Tecognised at their transaction value and
subsequently measured at fair value as at the balance sheet date using the closing.quoted maTket price. The
statement of financial a¢tivities includes the net gains and losses arising on revaluations and disposa15
throughout the year.
Realised gains and losses on investments are Calculated as the differen¢¢ between sales proceeds and their
opening cai'rying value or their purchas¢ value if acquired subsequent to th¢ first day of the fittan¢ial y¢ar.
Unrealised gains and losses are calculated as the differen¢¢ between the fair value at the year end and their
cariying value.
r) Current Assets and Llabllltles
All known current assets ar¢ brought into the ae¢ounts at the amounts which they ar¢ exp¢cteil to realise. All
known liabilities are brought into tlie accounts at their expected cost.
