The day to day administration of the Charity is undertaken by external professional firms. Rlsk Management The Trustees continually review the tnajor risks to which the Charity is exposed, in particular thos¢ related to the finances of the eharity and are satisfied that systems are in pla¢e lo mitigate their exposure to major risk. The majoi. I'isk of the charity is ils investment portfolio risk, which is mitigated by biannual meetings with the Investment Managers. OBJECTS AND ACTIVITIES Objeets of the Charity The object of the charity is the making of grants to charitable causes chosen by the trustees at their absolute discretion. Objectives for the Yegr The objectives for the year were.. To continue lo make grants to charitable organi5ations. To monitor the income of the charity whilst monitoring the financial markets. ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE Achievement of Objectives and Public Benefit The Charity continued to provide grants lo worthy organisations. In the year this amounted lo 358 grants lolalling £95,200 (2023.. £97,200). This included many medical and relief of poverty charities and these are disclosed in the Notes to the A¢¢ounls (pages 10- 17). Many of the organisations concemed are grateful to receive the grants, and th¢ Charity received many l¢tters of thanks. In planning the activities for the year the Trustees have referred lo the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. In parti¢ular the Trustees considered how planned a¢livities contribute to the aims and objectives of the Charity and are satisfied ihat this is the case. Grant Making Policies Grant appli¢alions are reviewed to ensure they comply with the r¢quir¢ments of the Charity and the Trustee5 authoris¢ payment through a third party.

In the year the Charity received donations of £68,678 and investment income and bank interest of £53,858 and expended £126,054 resulting in net income for the period of £15,470 after ￿aliSed and unrealised gains on investments of £18.988. The Charity saw the market value of investments in¢r¢ase during the year from £1,258,089 to £1,282,887. Reserves Policy Th¢ Trustees maintain sufficient reserves in the Income Fund to meet expectsd direct charitabl¢ expenditure. The Capital Fund is invested lo produce income for the Incom¢ Fund. FUTURE ACTIVITIES The Charity will Conlinue lo generate income to make grants to ¢haritable bodies. STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the Trustees lo prepare financial slaletnents for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of the charity's financial activities during the year and of ils financial position at the end of the year. Awounting and Reporting by Charitj¢S PTepgTing their accounts in accordance with th¢ Financial R¢poiting Standards applicable in the UK and R¢publi¢ of Ir¢land (FRS 102} (Second Edition is$u¢d in October 2019) and th¢ Financial Reporting Standard appli¢able in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011. The accounts have been prepared to give a 'ti'lle and fair view, and have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a 'true and fair view,. This departure involved following Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Stsndard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS1021 issued on 16 July 2014 l'ather than the Accounting and Reporting by Charities Statement of Recommended Practice effective from I April 2005 which has 5in¢¢ b¢¢n withdrawn. The ChaTity constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102. The Trust¢¢s ¢onsid¢r that th¢r¢ are no mat¢rial uno¢rtainli¢s about th¢ Charity's ability to continue as a going concern. b) Fund5 The Capital and Incom¢ Funds represent th¢ funds of th¢ Charity that ar¢ not 5ubjK¢ to any resTh'iction5 regarding their use and are available for application to the general purposes of the Charity. Funds designated for a parti¢ular purpo$¢ by the Charity are unrestricted. Restricted Funds are funds which are used in accordance with specific restrictions imposed by donors or which hav¢ been rnised by the Charity for a particular purpose. c) Income All income is recognised once the charity has entitlement to th¢ income, it is probable that the in¢om¢ will b¢ re¢¢ived and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably. d) Expenditure Liabilities aT¢ r¢wgni5¢d as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to that exp¢nditur¢, it IS PTobabl¢ that settlement will be required and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. All exp¢ndityr¢ is a¢wunted for on an accruals basis. All expenses including support costs and governance costs are allocated or apportioned to the applicable expenditure headings. e) Investments Investments are a form of b45ic financial inv¢stment and are initially recognised at their transaction value and subsequently measured at fair value as at the balance sh¢¢t date using the closing quoted market price. The Statement of financial activities includes the net gains and Ios5¢5 arÉsing on r¢valuatioDs and disposals throughout th¢ year.
