In previous years the big unk-nown factor ivas ivhetheT or nol th¢ much talked about and long
running saga of the proposed ASDA development ivould make any progress? As ive approach
the end of the current Financial Year and look- forward io ?0?5. it ivould appear that further
progrre5s is noiv being made iyith the Defv¢loper. ASDA and Plymouth City Council having
rcached a firm agreement and signing contracts to that efTect. A Public Consultation is
scheduled within the foreseeable future. Ivhich ivill outline the Future Plans for ihe site to the
Local Community and our currenl us¢rs.
The Association's planning and financial decisions. &s always b¢ largely influenced by
this bul in the m¢antime, Ive have a largely improved asset following the significanl capital
investment of r¢cent year5 and the "bonus" of the ongoing arrangement iviih Morgan Sindall
CoRstruction ivho have hired oul space ivithin the on-site Car Park. The much ivelcomed
funds which the latter has produced has enabled the Association to build a.ring fenced"
Capital Fund, Ivhich we anticipat¢ i¥ill be much needed for Capital Ex￿ndItUre once the
Development Project has been concluded.
