## **Newton Abbot Young Farmers Club**

Our Club is one of 37 independent Clubs affiliated to the Devon Federation of Young Farmers Club – Charity number 1098759. 

## **Our objectives:** 

- Advance the education of young members of the public at large, in agriculture, home crafts, country life and related subjects; and 

- In the interests of the social welfare of such members to provide, and promote the provision of, facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupations, being facilities which will improve their conditions of life and will assist in the development of their spiritual and mental capacities, self-reliance and individual responsibilities so that they will grow to full maturity as individuals and members of the community. 

## **Summary of our main activities:** 

Charity fundraising - £3,000 has been raised for FCN – The Farming Community Network. 

There has been many activities that the club members have taken part in this year from Entertainments, stock judging, sports, and organising events to raise money for charity. 

This has been many activities that the club members have taken part in this year from our Drama Performance, stock judging, breakfast morning, log sales, Christmas tree collections, quiz night, tractor run and various other organised events to raise money for charity. This includes quizzes, performances, breakfast mornings, log sales, Christmas tree collections, tractor runs, and a Charity ball. 

The Club confirms that it has referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commissions general guidance on public benefit when reviewing its aims and objectives and in planning future activities. 

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year:** 

The Club has monthly meetings in the local Inn meeting room. This is where we discuss the very full program of everything from stock judging, group and county competitions, club achievements and fund raisers. We achieved 2[nd] place in the group Drama competition which was the highest we have placed in this competition for a number of years. Throughout the year, we also were able to fund raise enough money to purchase a container for the club to store all props, signs,etc that are used throughout the year. 

Our year was completed with an end of year celebration and AGM to thank the members, advisory and parents for their help and to congratulate the members by presenting the Club Trophies. 

We also made a donation to our chosen Charity of FCN – The Farming Community Network of £3,000. This cheque was presented to an FCN representative at our AGM.
