forthe year ended 30th June 2024
The Trustees present their report with the financial slalemenls of the charity for the year ended 30th June
2024. The Trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordan￿ with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffeclive 1st January 20191.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
The object of the Trust is lo make donations to needy individuals and insts'tulions.
Ensurlng we meet our aims
The Trustees review the aims. objectives and acts'vilies each year. We look al what we have achieved in
terms of the success of each key activity and the benefits we have brought to those groups we are set up to
help. This review also helps us lo ensure our aims. obieclives and activities remain focussed on our stated
purposes. We have referred lo the guidance contained in the Gharily Commission's general guidanTr on
public benefit when reviewing our aims and objectives and in planning our future activities. In particular, the
Trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives we have sel.
Grantmaking
The Trust continued to meet ils objects during the year by making grants tolalling £1 D5,95012023". £118,432)
in accordance with the Trust Deed. Following the sale of an investment property in 2013, the Trustees are
carrying out their plan lo expand their grant making in the future with the funds realised. The Trust received
further investment property valued at £280,000 in the form of a donation in 2020, adding lo the Trust's
asset base and income generating capability. This propety was sold in 2022 to provide further funds for
grantmaking.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Reserves policy
AI 30th June 2024 reserves were £319,55612023. £365,216), of which £88,34612023.. £133,758) was freely
available. 11 is the aim of the Trustees to keep the level of free reseNes to a minimum in order lo maximise
expenditure on the charitable objects.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing doeumènt
The Bernard Morris Charitsble Trust is conslituled by Deed of Trust and is a registered charity, number
266532. Ils address is 5 Wolvercote Green, Wolvercole, Oxford, OX2 8BD.
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
The power to appoint new or additional Trustees rests with the existing trustees. New Trustees are inducted
through discussions with the existing Trustees.
Investment powers
The Trustees have full and unrestrtcted powers of investing 2nd transposing investments in all respects as
if they were absolutely entitled to the trust fund beneficially. Killik & Co LLP are appointed lo manage the
investment portfolio with the aim of maximising the investment income of the Trust.

I report lo the charity Trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Bemard Morris Charitable Trust
for the year ended 30th June 2024 which are sel out on pages 4 to 10.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As th2 charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 I'the Act'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and
in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 14515llbl of the Act.
Independent examinerfs statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come lo my attention in connection
with the examination giving me cause lo believe that in any material respect".

Accounting policies
Basis of preparing the financial statements
The financial slalemenls of the charity. which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102. have been
prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities..
statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts In accordance
with the Financial Reporting S13ndard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021
{effeGlive 1st January 2019),. Financial Reporting Slandarc$ 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the Charities Act 2011. The financial slalements
have been prepared under the historical cost convention. with the exception ol investments which
are included al market value, as modified by the revaluation of certain assets.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statement ol Financial Activities once the charity has enlitlemenl to
the funds. il is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.
Expenditure
Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is 8 legal or Conslruclive obligation
committing the charity lo that expenditure, il is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be
required in selllemenl and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is
accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost
related lo the category. Vlthere costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have
been all(￿Sted to activities on a basis consislenl with the use of resources.
Grants offered subject to conditions which have not been mel al the year end dale are noted as a
commitrnenl bul not accrued as expenditure.
Investment property
Investment property is shown at most recent valuation. Any aggregate surplus or deficit arising from
changes in fair value is recognised in the Slalemenl of Financial Activities.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from lax on its Charitable aclivilies.
Fund accounting
All incoming and expended resources are unreslricled and can be used in accordance with the
charitable objectives at the discretion of the Trustees.
Fixed asset investments
Quoted fixed asset equity investments are included in the accounts at their market value al the
balance sheet dale. This give5 rise to unrealised gains and losses which are included on the f8Tr of
the Statement of Financial Aclivilies. Unquoted fixed asset investments are included in the accounts
al historical cost.
