In February 2024. th8 Iriistees of tha Camatery Enclosures Trust submltted Ihe5r proposal for a cy-prés
scheme to the Charity Commisslon. Thalr new schemo would romove the Assembly's dlrectTve powers
and sever tha link between the charlties. The Cathedral had beon offered an early dr*ft to revlew and
submltted ¢ommenls in FebrLEary 2023 objecting to the proposal. The Calhedr81'8 lawyers are now In th
proces8 of T8gistering a formal objectlon lo thg 8clieme. As such, thero wlll be addllional legal ctssts
throughout 2024 and possibly into 2025.
