|**Summary of the objects of the**<br>**charity set out in its**<br>**governing document**<br>**Summary of the main**<br>**activities undertaken for the**<br>**public benefit in relation to**<br>**these objects (include within**<br>**this section the statutory**<br>**declaration that trustees have**<br>**had regard to the guidance**<br>**issued by the Charity**<br>**Commission on public**<br>**benefit)**|The objects of the Association shall be - To promote the benefit of the<br>inhabitants of Westgate-on-Sea and the neighbourhood without<br>distinction of sex or political, religious and other opinions by associating<br>the Local Authorities voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a<br>common effort to advance education and provide facilities in the interests<br>of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object<br>of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.<br>To establish and secure the establishment of a Community Centre and to<br>maintain and manage, or to co-operate with the Local Statuary Authority<br>in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities<br>promoted by the Association and its constituent bodies in the furtherance<br>of the above objects. The Association shall be Non-Party in Politics and<br>Non-Secretarian in Religion|

||From April 2024 to March 2025 the Centre has been busy holding well<br>over 30+ events and parties plus the centre being used by the regular<br>hirers providing a safe place for all members of the local community. Two<br>elections were also held.<br>A new group supporting Under 5’s started at the centre expanding to two<br>days a week as due to the volume of bookings.<br>Westgate-on- Sea Town Council held their Community Picnic, which was<br>enjoyed by all who attended with the community centre at the heart of<br>the event fulfilling the centres objectives.<br>Westgate Community Centre is an emergency accommodation centre for<br>the local Infants school and a Retirement Living facility. An agreement<br>was drawn up between both parties and keys were given.<br>A temporary telecom mast was placed on the adjoining green to the<br>centre. The centre held a public meeting giving the community the<br>chance to put their views across. An agreement was signed between<br>TDC, the Trustees of the Centre and the Telecom Company.<br>New blinds were installed at the centre.<br>The curtains were washed and coated with fire retardant spray as<br>recommended in the fire risk assessment.|

## Section D                      Achievements and performance 

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

Bookings are constant and groups are very happy with the Centre and managing the economic crisis. Rents have remained steady and the Centre is making a small profit yearly. Maintenance is ongoing.

There is no policy regarding reserves in the Constitution but the **Brief statement of the** Committee have agreed to a minimum of £10,000 being kept in a **charity’s policy on reserves** National Savings Account.
