Officers are elected annually by the Annual General Meeting held in March/April each year. All members are eligible to serve as officers of FUM. There are five unpaid exofficio officers, employees of the Tanzanian Government, who act as our liaison officers

in the Tabora Region.

## Activities in 2019

During 2019 our main task has been to support the three Folk Development Colleges at Sikonge, Mwanhala and Urambo. We award bursaries to needy students and run a programme of sponsoring disadvantaged young people through their years of secondary schooling. These bursary schemes have grown and we now support over 100 secondary school students in Nzega District. We are continuing to seek new sponsors for this scheme. We also supported trainee nursing students attending the nursing school at Nzega District Hospital and have sponsored several doctors and nurses seeking to study on specialist courses.

We have continued our support of fifteen Mother and Child Health clinics in the Districts of Kaliua, Nzega and Urambo. Our principal focus is the provision of safe, reliable water supply schemes at those clinics. To this end we have commissioned the installation of a deep borehole at the clinic in Isegenhe village, Nzega District and we are looking to raise money for more such boreholes.

As always, the trustees are grateful for the continuing hard work of our officers both in the UK and Tabora and the generous support of our members.

The accounts show that our income is satisfactory and is broadly in balance with our Expenditure.

We continue to have excellent relationships with the Tabora Government staff including the active support of The Regional Commissioner who is one of our presidents.

Signed on behalf of the Trustees
